What's the address of the site?
First, it's nice to hear that some of you are missing the Magic Shop. Yes I too have fond memories of it. No, I didn't work this one, but I did work both magic shops in DL (Main Street Magic and Merlin's in Fantasyland). I almost had the opportunity to work the magic shop at WDW when the parks first opened but a certain uncle of mine (a.k.a. Uncle Sam) had other ideas for me.
Sorry to get sidetracked.....now what attraction do I miss? Well, this is one which is still there but isn't. Confused? Well, let's say that the building is still there and it is called the same thing, but what is inside has changed several times and I miss the original. Still haven't figured it out? Why it's the Diamond Horseshoe Review (otherwise known as the Golden Horseshoe Review in DL). Thank goodness there is a web site dedicated to it so I can remember the show.
Keep your hands and arms inside the post at all times and remember no smoking or flash photography please!
What's the address of the site?
somebody up there (I don't remember who) was saying something about no Pocahontas references, I know you don't actually see her or anything, but doesn't the audio on the railroad talk about her when you pass the camp of Native Americans? not much, but it is something. (I'm not a Pocahontas fan, so it doesn't dissapoint me to not see or hear from her)![]()
Yes, the WDRR does mention her on your way to the toontown fair stop.
Can anyone confirm the rumor that the pocahontas scene in Fantasmic was removed during the most recent refurb?
Thanks

I was just at Fantasmic the end of February.
Pocahontas scene is still intact.
Gov. Ratcliffe still sings, they still build a fort, there is still a fight and Capt. John Smith still swings to the rescue.
Thanks 1hr - I guess the rumor mill failed me this time
I am glad to see that pocahontas is still there, although i was excited at the possibility of a new scene in the show.
thanks again

okay - so it is me who always complains about not seeing Pocahontas anywhere - I love her -
I am very glad to hear she is still in Fantasmic - no matter if you are a Pocahontas fan or not - that scene is very cool - especially the end when they are on the oppisite side of the mountain and the spot lights are on them and...
Okay - I am getting caught in my own little Disney world fantasy again!
Does anyone remember much about the swan boats? I see the launching site by tommorowland but don't really remember much about them. They were on the "D" ticket I believe for a very short time. Also, I personally miss the keel boats. I would have liked to see what the explorer canoes were about. I have seen pictures but never participated. I guess for me, the water rides seem to have diminished.

I just got a Disney annual pass for my wife and kids....GOOD TRADE, EH?
fastpass,
Welcome!!!
Great to have you here!!
As for the Swan Boats...
The graceful "Plaza Swan Boats" operated seasonally from May 1973 until August 1983 in the canal surrounding Cinderella Castle and through parts of Adventureland. The seventeen-minute ride was guided usually by a young, (usually female) Cast Member who gave a tour past numerous points of interest. There were twelve, 26-passenger boats in the fleet, including one which was used solely to clean the canals. They were powered by natural gas, and used a water jet propulsion system. Although originally suppose to run on an electronic guidance system, it never worked correctly, and the boats were steered manually. The boats were named after heroines from classic Disney films, such as "Tinker Bell, "Flora," "Fauna," and "Merryweather" from Sleeping Beauty. The ride required a "D-Ticket" up until 1980, when the ticket books were discontinued. The green-roofed dock on the water's edge between Cinderella Castle and Tomorrowland, still exists today, although the boats are long gone, having been sold by Disney after the ride's closure.
I miss the boats as well, having only a faint recollection of riding them (and being somehat bored as a little kid) aronud the Castle. Now that I'm older, I'd actually like to take a trip on them to experience the unique views they must have afforded.

I have to say that I really miss 20,000 leagues - always seems so sad when we walk by the empty lagoon![]()
- MSEP
- The Walt Disney Story (less so now that One Man's Dream is at the Studios)
- The Original Tiki Room. I like the new one, but the audio from the beginning is so amazing now that it's cleaned up and digital and on good speakers that I'd love to hear the whole original show with such aural satisfaction)
- Magic Journeys
I remember the parade at night, which someone said is no longer there. i think it was the disney electronic parade or something like that. i also liked the 20000 leagues subs and i was sad to read it here that they were gone.

We also miss the swan boats and Skyway as well as 20,000 leagues. Another was the G.E. exhibition...that was awesome!
