hello all...it's been awhile since I've posted anything but I have been busy. I finally got my scanner working and I have two large boxes of old slides/negatives of family, trips, etc since the 70's. So today I finally got to the slides of my first trip to WDW back in 1977. Most of my slides are the common photos of the castle, space mountain, etc. and I will post if everyone wants to see them. However, today I uploaded just two photos that I thought that some of you might be interested in. Do any of you remember the murals that were inside the first building on the right on Main Street (sorry that my memory is fuzzy on the building name)? If so, you would remember that supposedly the mural was covered and finally distroyed. Well, I happened to take a few photos of it and here are two of them. I think that I might discover a couple more as I continue to keep at this scanning. The photos are in the WDW Theme Parks/Lost Attractions

Steve! great to hear from you I'd love to see even you "common" pictures, you simply don't see a lot of pre-computer era pictures of WDW on the net. Also as I've mentioned on my web page before Tomorrowland really had very few postcard images of it over the years, so anything form there will be particularly appreciated, I also particularly like seeing pictures of any part of the park that has changed, even slightly. From areas that have changed greatly since 1977, like Frontierlands far end where the train station used to sit (or is it set? to things that may remain exactly the same today, I'd love to see them all. Even the ones that remain the same may confirm for me that an area hasn't changed where I may have had my doubt's, after all even if a store on Main Street has been in the same location since opening day often times things change slightly during re-habs.

I last rode the
Main Street Omnibus (double decker bus) in 1998 shortly after the castle had recovered from it's "pink" phase (It started to be painted with the first coats of pink around August of 1996 and stayed that way all the way through 1997) It was still looking quite "fresh" in May of 1998 year. I ddi not take any pictures of the omnibus but there are some nice shots I took from it on the following page
http://www.bigbrian-nc.com/tr4dot6.htm they are about two-thirds of the way down the page I was on the upper deck of the bus and it gives a really great perspective to the pictures.

AFAIK these, and the rest of the MS vehicles have not been retired, thoguh I suspect they may not run as frequently, or maybe it's just that I don't go so muck at "peak" times when EVERYTHING that can serve guests is put to use.

Firstly a 'Big Hi' to everyone!!

This is my first time using the forum!!

I have only managed to visit WDW 3 times since 1999 with living in the UK but can someone please answer me why they closed River Country and are there any plans to open something up in its place?
