Which Version of Spaceship Earth Do You Like Better And Why?
There are four different versions of the ride:
Larry Dobkin: 1982-1986
Walter Cronkite: 1986-1994
Jeremy Irons: 1994-2007
Judi Dench: 2008- Present
Vote for your favorite! :)
Have fun!

Ummm.. WOW... this is REALLY scary!
You must be reading my mind (or my notes) as this EXACT question and poll was something I had scheduled to post on the blog later this week!!!! :dizzy:
I'll hold off for a while, but for now, will go and cast my vote here...
Nice job! :)

I probably like the Walter Cronkite version the best.
I never heard the Larry Dobkin version, so that kind of rules that one out. I did enjoy both the Cronkite and the Irons versions very much. They were both very good. However, I do think the Cronkite version probably had a little bit better music, in my opinion. The Dench version just seams weak to me in its narration and the script is terrible.
If it were allowed though, my "dream Spaceship Earth" would probably have the AA's from the current version, the narration of either Cronkite or Irons, the instrumental music from the Irons version and the ending decent with Tomorrows Child from the Cronkite version.
Re: Which Version of Spaceship Earth Do You Like Better And Why?
I liked the Jeremy Irons version best, but probably only because it was the version my kids and I first experienced together. They were very young and the AAs were "real" to them.

I have to go with the Jeremy Irons version. His voice just "fit" the atmosphere of the ride.
Re: Which Version of Spaceship Earth Do You Like Better And Why?
the music and the voice of Jeremy Irons defined my childhood in Epcot... i really miss that version...
Re: Which Version of Spaceship Earth Do You Like Better And Why?
I picked Judi Dence to annoy everyone haha, but also its the only one I can remember... I had only been to epcot twice before it was changed (on most of my trips to Florida my family could only afford to do one park day, and MK won most years lol)

You can see videos of it on Youtube. Obviously it won't be the same as being there in person, but you will be able to see what we're raving about.

if only they would allow you to choose...
Re: Which Version of Spaceship Earth Do You Like Better And Why?
I picked Walter Chronkite because that was the narration i remember from my first visit when i fell in love with the ride, second would have to be Jeramy Irons.

I picked Jeremy Irons for the same reason. My first trip To Walt Disney World found me at Epcot as my first stop and Spaceship Earth as the first attraction I visited.
Probably rode SE 10 times that week I was so impressed.

That's a great idea! You could choose language and narrator as you were starting up the hill.
