    The Spaceship Earth Wand

    Does anyone miss the wand? I was thinking about this when I did a blog post about it which you can read here. Does anyone miss it?

    As if seeing the giant sphere wasn't enough to remind you where you were, here is a 60' tall "Epcot", just in case you accidentally thought you were at Blizzard Beach.
    Really, Walt? Disneyland is MY land? Why would I want a silly little land when I can have the WORLD.

    I have to admit...I needed to use my GPS a few times after they took it down just to reorient myself.

    I always used it as a way to guide me to Epcot. Trouble is, after following the wand's trajectory, I would always wind up at Sea World.

    I hate it (harsh word, I know) and was so bummed when they kept it beyond the Millennium celebration. So glad it's gone!

    Couldn't have said it better! The wand was kind of magical for the Millennium celebration as Epcot was the Hub for that turn of the century event. Adapting it for beyond was just tacky and the start of Disney's decline at Future World. Did a happy dance when it finally fell.

    I much prefer the classic look of SSE. To me it doesn't need any decoration. It is on it's own a beautiful sight!
