Re: Fake Disney retail replaces the Disney Store in Chicagoland Mall
Well I had to go hunt for a book for my DD for Christmas this evening and made a detour on the way home to the Mall with the Fake Disney Store.
I have to say it was neat, clean and every single bit of the hardware was still in the store, well taken care of by the Native American Store that was in there last. The two cash register check outs were exactly how they were left by Disney as was the framework for the Plush Mountain.
Now what I found was basically Dollar Store Disney stuff. Pens, crayons, coloring books, paper birthday plate. There were a few toys, towels, flip flops, blankets. Wasn't finding anything Christmas related. Basically stuff for a goodie bag for a kids party.
As I said everything had a place and it could not have been more organized. Probably because nobody was in there! I like 2 others walked the store, looked at everything and walked out. The clerk never got up from behind the check out counter.

how odd, and why are they closing down the stores? at the store in my mall, they closed it for a while to remodel it, they are now done and soon i will be giving them a visit
Re: Fake Disney retail replaces the Disney Store in Chicagoland Mall
This particular Disney Store was a quality Disney Store until the Children Place took over. When Disney took the stores all back from Children's Place this one was closed and abandoned. It was a Native American Store until last year. Then the fake Disney store moved in this fall.
While there are many Disney stores in the Chicagoland area, I am hedging my bet that this mall will never see a Disney Store again.
Re: Fake Disney retail replaces the Disney Store in Chicagoland Mall
Have they done anything with the Disney Store on Michigan? I've heard they're starting to upgrade some of them.
Not that I had a problem with the way it was before...
Re: Fake Disney retail replaces the Disney Store in Chicagoland Mall
I'll be able to answer that question in another week. I'm taking my DD and some friends to explore the PedWay. Ive only explored one route and am curious about the balance so I'll hit the Michigan Avenue Store while in the City.
I did go into the one near the heart of State St., maybe Madison? and it was nice enough however they are still only selling kiddy stuff.
