    Old Swan Boat Dock.

Just saw that it is either going bye-bye, or is being refurbished into something else.

I suppose I might be the only one here that cares, but yet another part of my childhood memories from the great MK will no longer be...

I'm with you, Scott. I know I rode it as a child and remember the ride, though not the on-ride views for some reason.

I can't imagine why they'd tear it down as it really is useless waterside space, unless it's easier to remove than to maintain. But I do enjoy the quiet hidden area, sitting near the rose garden and relaxing. Hopefully it's just a refurb project.

I've seen the pictures and it looks like she is getting a face-lift like most of Main Street received and the bridge right next to it leading to Tomorrowland is also receiving its face-lift at the same time.

The Swan Dock is a very popular Wedding Venue in the early hours of the morning at the Magic Kingdom and offers a backdrop to the bride and groom of the castle.

I have not heard anything beyond just some tender loving care.
    Some people are like Slinkies.

They aren't really good for anything,
but they still bring a smile to my face when I push them down a flight of stairs.

Based on the pictures I'm inclined to agree. But, any time building covers go up (which is seeming encompassing about 25% of MK right now), I get a little nervous.

As for the bridge, the way they've got it set up looks as though they're possibly going to widen it. (?)

I bought the Proposal Package through Disney and that's where they held it. So between proposals and weddings, if there's money to be made, then there is little reason to do away with it. Especially since it just needs some sweeping each day.

I asked and told that they are adding ornate iron work on top of the concrete ledges because the guests are sitting on them during the evening shows and they are trying to keep the stupid from falling into the moat. They had to do this also to the bridge by Mexico near the Odyssey for the same reason.

For far too much money, they offer a package (or did, anyway... this was back in 1999) where you are notified upon check-in at your resort that you had been 'randomly selected' (or so the bride thinks) to watch Wishes from a VIP private seating area in the rose garden on the dock. 20 minutes before Wishes, they have you arrive at the entrance, which is roped off. A worker escorts you down to a couch at the dock, and during the fireworks, you propose. At the end, you are given a champagne toast (sparkling cider), Mickey & Minnie wedding hats, and a giant bouquet of flowers. For even more money (I wasn't going there), you could have characters. The packages ranged from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. I think mine was in the middle. Of course, that marriage didn't wind up working out, so live and learn, I suppose.

Me, I allow Natural Selection to run its course. Some people need to experience a good soaking.

Amen. CMs want to put their head through the wall with Please get down. Walk away. Guests climb right back up. Stupid is annoying.

    Agreed.

And the problem is that stupid seems to have spread in the last 20-30 years.

    Thank you, ambulance chasing lawyers!!

I know it won't happen, but I would love to see the swan boats come back. I have very vivid memories as a child. Awesome views of the castle.

Yeah, I actually dug the "behind the scenes" view of Adventureland.

I agree Mo. I'm not sure why they got rid of them.
