Yes, one of the dinos did bend over closer to the vehicles than they do now, and there might have been some dino nasal mucus (don't know if I can use snot on this site?) that sprayed on you, but then again my mind is not what is used to be.

you're right, the dino did spray mucus! i always managed to get hit with it...i don't think it sprays anynore though last i was there his nostrils did look damp, maybe that is just mebut now there's another one who spits water...it's on the right hand side before you come to ellen waving a branch at a not so friendly dino..it's small and totally surprised the guy in the row behind us when he got sprayed right in the face bc of the way he was sitting.

What did they do? Just move the ride to the AK ? We haven't been down to WDW (sigh) since AK opened......The ride was in Epcot in the futureworld section. Everyone started out in a theatre watching a movie with Ellen DeGeneres, then giant sections of seats started sliding around like chips on one of those hand held puzzles that you shift blocks back and forth to solve the puzzle. The giant blocks of seats then moved through the building through the dinosaurs. I was sad to see it not on the map in Epcot in planning our trip for this August.....but if a similar ride is in AK, then I can enjoy it there ? Is that what happened?.......they moved the ride to AK ? (or made a similar one in AK)

Cranium Commando
Dinosaur, which is in the AK, is a newer thrill ride that is a lot differen than Universe of Energy. You ride around in a fast moving car through a prehistoric jungle with Dinosaurs popping out at you.
While you have a great point that the two rides seem similar in the overall theme, the execution of each ride is much different. Universe of Energy is more educational, while Dinosaur is purely for thrills.

1 hour's drive to WDW.
If you have been to Disneyland, Dinosaur is the same type of ride (different theme, but not too much) as the Indiana Jones ride. Basically, you ride in a small jeep-type car that jerks a lot as you move through several scenes.

I was reading my Unofficial Guide to WDW (which I like better than Birnbaum) last night and the ride I was remembering was the Universe of Energy, with Ellen, and Bill Nye the Science Guy. I'm glad the ride is still there.....but I also can't wait to see the Dinosaur ride in AK !

Here's another vote from a kid who misses the way Journey Into Imagination used to be.
For those of us "old-schoolers," just in case you hadn't noticed, there is at least a nod to the old patriarch on the re-vamped attraction. I can't pinpoint exactly where, but there is a door at the institute for the Dean; "D. Finder."

In one of the rooms, there's also Dreamfinder's old airship prop repainted and dressed up as some pipes on the wall. I can't remember where it is exactly, but someone else might. I came across a picture of it the other day, and if I can find the link again, I'll post it here.

Wow! So many to choose from. I guess I just like things the way things were the first time I went. While I like change, it should only be for the better. Some of the changes haven't been, unfortunately.
I had forgotten about the Coummunicore-miss that too and Kitchen Kabaret and the list goes on...

It's not an attraction per se, but I do miss the Tapestry of Nations parade thru World Showcase. At least they still play the music in the park.

I'll second the Tapestry of Nations parade. I think it was one of the neatest parades Disney ever put on. I only got to see it once, unfortunately.
