I'm debating buying the new edition. I have the original DVD AND the VHS. I am trying to justify buying the new one when there are so many more I don't have!
If anyone bought the Little Mermaid special 2-disc edition, on the 2nd cd they showed "The ride that almost was" and gave you the opportunity to virtually go through the ride, as it was planned out, but never created.
Was wondering peoples thoughts about it, if you saw it. Do you think it should have been made? Why do you think it didn't happen? Would you ride it, if it was created?

I saw that too, it looked like a really great idea and i'd love to see it made some day. Im guessing it would have gone back in fantasyland, because they were working on it around 92-93 and 20k under the sea closed in 94 i believe.

They could also turn it into a Fantasyland ride because Disneyland has Alice and others besides just the standard WDW ones.

Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. - Walt Disney
Once again I think it comes down to money as to whether a ride/attraction gets the green light. The show at MGM seems to be very popular, but I doubt Disney would build a ride around the theme at this time. They could add some of the characters to the Living Seas though.

I saw the virtual ride. The Ursala part was off the hook. I also likeed the graveyard of lost ships and the "Kiss The Girl" scene.
