You have got to so freaking be kidding.
Did you forget I'm an amateur?
I've got to go back to the scrapbook store now. I don't recall ever seeing this paper in the store, but then again, I don't recall ever looking!
Welcome to the 3rd task in the Tuesday Technique Challenge series.
These challenges will push you to explore techniques and materials you may not normally use in your creations.
Task for Tuesday Technique Challenge #3 is: Use mulberry on a layout or card.
Mulberry is a thin, fibrous paper with rich colors that can be torn, layered, or stamped. It produces a feathery edge when torn. (From the Encyclopedia of Scrapbooking)
A popular way to use mulberry is to tear it, achieving a soft feathery edge. To tear mulberry you draw a line on the paper where you want to tear it with water (q-tips work well for this). Don't worry about using too much water, the more water the easier it will be to tear. Pull apart at the water line and let dry. Don't like a lot of fibers hanging off the edge? Just grab a pair of scissors and give it a haircut!
Here is a sample of layout that has torn mulberry on it, courtesy of Disneydreamer98:
Stitchify! –Use torn mulberry in a paper piecing (great for making furry animals).
When you post your item here, please list the supplies that you used (brand of patterned paper, type of embellishments, etc), so if someone loves one of your ideas they can find the supplies to lift it.
Deadline for TTC #3 is September 19th. And remember, you can combine challenges, so if you want to combine this with another challenge running, go right ahead!
Have fun and get those creative juices flowing!

You can all blame Goofygirl for this one....she comes up to me the other day with a pack of Mulberry paper in her hand and says "Hey are we ever going to do a challenge with mulberry paper? I want to use this stuff up."
Someone send minnie some mulberry paper!
I thought mulberry was the color. (Just kidding, cause Melissa had already told me.)
*guilty* I wasn't going to even try to Stitchify this one.....but since you threw down the gauntlet I feel I got to do it now!
Here are some directions on how to make a mulberry tear bear.
Tear Bear
This things are really popular on EBay, so if you want to see different kinds search there for "tear bears".
Now I'm so far behind!![]()
Okay....here is my attempt at a mulberry animal. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.
Mulbery is from DCWV
Everything else was scraps of something, so I have no idea who makes it.
How cute is that!?!?!![]()
That is really cute.
I really like it.
Can I lift it?
OMG! That cat is so cute. And you said it was easy? Hmm, might have to give it a try.
