Welcome to the boards.
I just registered and I am looking forward to exploring this site. My family and I live approximately 45 minutes east of WDW. We have been spending our vacations at WDW every year. We are visiting this June for one week. We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge. We have stayed at the Poly, and the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I have heard nothing but good things about the Wilderness Lodge. I was wondering if anyone is willing to describe their experiences with the Wilderness Lodge?? Thanks again for welcoming me to your family. I hope I can answer any questions that you might have.

to DWT, kilcobj!
Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful resort. How lucky to both live so close and to get to spend a week in the Deluxe resorts!

I've only stayed at the DWL once, and eaten there once. My stay consisted of 3 nights in a Savannah side room in May of 2006. The room was themed nicely. Animals came into the Savannah on two mornings, but I found there were several windows along the hallways where you could see animals grazing in the Savannah. I also spent a lot of time wandering around the complex viewing the animals, looking at all the artwork, and checking out the pool.
I never managed to eat at DWL on that trip, but a year later, my dd and I had dinner at Jiko. I'm sorry I don't recall what I ordered, but I remember that it was mighty tasty. We also had a appetizer in the bar area just off the lobby and I enjoyed that as well.

kilcob, to the DWT....Love the Wilderness Lodge, the boat is a great way to travel back and forth to the Magic Kingdom and don't forget about the gyser every hour and at night the Electrical Water Pagent. Also I believe they still have tours around the resort, ask at the front desk, it's a really interesting place. Oh and one more thing, I love the music, it hits you the minute you walk through the doors
WELCOME to DWT!!!!! Lucky dog to be living only 45 minutes away!
