Welcome to DWT!! Hope you like it here!
I am a refusing to recover Disney-aholic!! Hubby and I are taking our clan to WDW for the first time this summer. We are very frequent DL visitors but this is the first visit to FL. We are a tad bit excited. It is only 101 DAYS away!!! We'll be staying at the Poly for 6 days and then off to Cocoa Beach for a few days of beach and space...(KSC not just open land, though coming from So. Cal, open land will be nice to see also!!) Any suggestions out there for what to do near Cocoa Beach area. We are going to to KSC, Merritt Island Refuge....any must eat restaurants?

I don't have any info as per your question....but just wanted to welcome you.
We went to Cocoa Beach in 2005 for a few days and did KSC and we visited Ron Jon's, I don't think we did anything else. It was really windy and raining when we went because Hurrican Isabell was just south of us at the time, so we didn't get to do a whole lot. I hope you all have fun!!!

gracefor5 to the DWT That is so exciting that you are going on your 1st trip to WDW, just remember that is takes alot longer to get around from park to park and park to resort so allow yourself enough time. I have stayed at Cocoa Beach several times and other then the beach and the space center we don't really do much else, we only stay a couple days before we go to Disney usually. There is a Cocoa Village with some shops that is nice. There are several restaurants over near the where the ships go out in Port Canaveral that we like, here is a website.....Port Canaveral we've been to Rustys, Grill's to name a few. They are reasonably priced places. Grills usually turns into more of a party scene later in the evening. If I think of anything else I'll post it. Have fun
Welcome aboard Gracefor5! Great to have another So Cal Disney fan around DWT! (I lived in Pasadena 47 years before moving to TX in 2000)
Preparing for the first trip to WDW is VERY exciting and experiencing WDW the first time is AWESOME!
