That's really awesome. We had a similiar experience. Checked into Pop for 2 nights. They were overbooked and asked if we minded staying at Saratoga (1 bedroom ste) instead!
Hey guys! I've been listening to the radio show for a couple years. It's great for keeping up with what's going on at Disney -- as well as making me very jealous hearing about all the great events I'm missing out on! :P
Growing up in Ohio, WDW was a yearly vacation for my family and I. I've since moved down to Florida and gone a few more times. It's still my favorite vacation spot. Just a week ago I got my first annual pass!
Here's my quick story -- my last two vists, I decided to book 2 nights at the Beach Club, since the off season resident rates are around $200+. When we got there, they upgraded our rooms to 5th floor concierge!
But it doesn't end there -- the NEXT weekend we go, I decided OK I'll get ONE night at Beach Club, and then save some money and go value for 2 more nights. Well, we check out of Beach Club, and go over to the value resort. At the front desk the lady calls over a manager and he tells us -- we're so sorry, we're overbooked... have you heard of the Beach Club?
SCORE! Upgraded from value to Beach Club! So we go back over and check in again! I know it really doesn't matter where you stay, since you can visit any of the resorts, but the rooms are a little nicer and close to Epcot.
But, my girlfriend and I are so spoiled now! We'll never want to stay at the value resorts now lol! I guess it's the Caribbean at LEAST for now on!

Welcome and that's really cool! I guess that's what happens when you get to go often enough.

Saratoga looks is really nice -- I'd definitely like to try it. Walking distance to downtown -- which we'll need to plan on what we'd like to do down there now that Pleasure Island is gone... of course the restaurants are amazing.
A fun eating out tip: go around the resorts, we just did two at Grand Floridian one night, and just share an appatizer and a drink. You can sometimes sit at the bar without a reservation, so it can be a spur of the moment thing. It's still a little pricey but a little more fun. And you still enjoy wonderful service! I think I'm ready to give Vic Albert's a try *clutches wallet*
Awesome luck and welcome to the boards.
