Just saying "hi!"

Hi Everyone! For the first time ever, we will be in WDW during a meet of the month. I RSVP'd for the Jan 2012 meet on Facebook and figured it would be a good idea to officially join the forum here and introduce myself. I have been a long-time listener to the WDW Radio Show and have all of the audio tours as well.

My husband and I have two little girls (ages 8 and 10). We took our first family Disney vacation in 2008, and have been back every year since. Our 2012 trip kicks off in just 5 days!

My husband will run in the half marathon.

I first visited WDW in 1974 as a child. It was my most treasured memory from childhood. I can still remember my mom letting me pick out a glass figurine as a souvenir (I got Gus and Jack).

It was a magical time for just my mom and me, as my dad was off on a fishing trip.

My family took a one day trip back to WDW in 1981, and then my husband (then boyfriend) and I were there for one day in 1996 (yes, we saw the big pink castle!) It was a long wait until 2008 when we finally took our family there for the first time, and we loved it so much that we now go back every year. It is truly my happy place, and I know you all understand that sentiment!

Just curious- what happens at the "meets of the month"? We were already planning on being in the MK that day, so the timing works out perfectly. Is it "come and go", or is there a set schedule?

Welcome! I have never been to a meet. I think they are come and go. Other than the time they set to start, I don't think there is anything planned. But again- /I haven't been- only seen it on chats.
