Welcome to WDT. Why did you pick Serling and not Sterling?

That was a trick question. You see Rod Serling aka Rod Sterling is an enigma of sorts. Us real old timers will recall he used to be Rod Sterling, but changed his name for some reason (numerology?) or something to that effect and became Rod Serling or in the 60's. I have never been able to document exactly, but remember it being a news item in the days of black and white TV.

Depending on the biography you read he was born Rodman Edward Sterling, or Edward Rodman Serling, or Rodman Edward Serling. Very confusing? The one fact no one disputes is that he was 5' 4" tall and died at age 51 after bypass surgery.

I was a big fan of The Twilight Zone and am sure have seen every episode, unless there are "lost" episodes somewhere in the Twilight Zone.

Yes, thanks for the info Jiminy! I was also unaware of the confusion around his name.

I'm a big fan of The Twilight Zone, Outer Limits (old b/w version), and Tales from the Dark Side. I have recently noticed that the SciFi channel occasionally runs some of the old Twilight Zone episodes around 1-2am EST. (I bought a $30 video capture card about a week ago, and have managed to get copies of about 7 TZ episodes so far!)
