Roy E. Disney today filed for divorce from his wife of 51 years, Patty.

That's awful. I have only been married a year and a half and I can't imagine how painful divorce would be... divorce after 51 years is unfathomable!

I heard it too, 51 yrs. They got married right after Disneyland opened in 1955.

It truly is sad to see a marriage fall apart after 51 years. One can’t imagine how much work went into a marriage that lasted that long, and to then decide to end it. And to take on the stress of something like a divorce at the age of 77. Let’s just hope that everything is well with them both, and they both are better off in the end.
