does anyone know if the disney dining plan lets u get any food on the menu or are there restrictions?

when my family got the disney dinning plan we ate in Italy and could order anything of the menu so i am assuming that is the same every where the only thing that had restrictions as i recall were what were considered snacks but there is always a sign for those.
