New WDW special on UPN

UPN 9, here in the new york area aired an hour special on WDW last night. I enjoyed seeing the park but this was horribly produced, and the host was downright awful. (to her defense, it seemed she had a bad writer) It did havea preview of one of the new water park rides.

The show did a "top ten" attractions of WDW, number ten was the pop century resort, and they lumped the three disney mountains into one attraction. The Osmand family special at disney was better than this.

The Lightship specials are still the king of WDW features.

I caught most of it, too, and I have to agree it was disappointing. The footage was OLD, it talked about shows that have ended like they were still there (Cinderella's Surprise Celebration especially - with no mention of Cinderellabration at all), and they totally overused the "Top Ten" pyramid graphics. Mission:Space as the #1 NEW attraction? What happened to Soarin'? I didn't catch that on there at all, but I might have missed it if it was #8 or #9.

Of course, I'll watch the tape of it again later, no matter how bad it was...

UPN - United Paramount Network - is best known here for Star Trek spin-offs and sitcoms of questionable quality. It's one of the lower rated networks. I had to go back and check, but the Destination: Disney special actually was a UPN production. Which is good that is wasn't a Disney production, but not so good for UPN's reputation.

Umm, maybe because no one watched it, the plots were either bizarre or reused, the characters underutilized, and it was not the show fans hoped it would be??

I found it to be a little boring.

Exactly!

Don't get me wrong: I still watch it whenever a new episode is on (whenever that may be), and half the time with the repeats. And that isn't only because Scott Bakula is one of my favorite actors.

They really could have done so much more with the show.

OK, no more Star Trek posts or we'll be booted to "General Discussions!"
