Disney water smell

I haven't been to Disney World since I was six-years-old. I know, I know. We were supposed to do a big family trip this summer with my parents, my sister, brother-in-law and niece and nephew but the recession got in the way.

After having not been there for sooo long I've recently, for some reason have gotten an overwhemling yearning to return. I'm kind of currently obsesssed with it which is why I'm here on this forum now. So I'm hoping it happens in the not so distant future.

Anyway, like I said, it's been so long since I've been, but I have always distinctively remembered the smell inside the "Pirates of the Caribbean Ride". I have a little kitten, I picked her up the other day and commented to someone that she smelled like "Pirates". I remember when I was little, my cousin had a little bridge over the ditch in front of their home, it smelled like "Pirates". People look at me like I'm crazy when I say something like that: "How do you remember that?!"

I'm absolutely amused that someone brought this up!

Another one I remember is "Universe of Energy" at Epcot.

I started cracking up when I heard Lou say the water smell from WDW. I knew exactly what he was talking about and I actually mentioned the Splash Mountain smell to my mom a few minutes before Lou brought it up in the discussion.

yeah the water smell on POtC is noticeable...I cant say that I smell it anywhere but Disney but I do know what you're talking about And I actually love the smell and the musty feeling it fits the ride perfectly.

I love that smell for no other reason than the location of the smell! If my water at home smelled like that I would be frantically calling plumbers!

It's the South Florida sulfur water. I absolutely love that smell!! Especially in Pirates!
