Disney water smell

ahhh...how many of you take in a big whiff of the stale misty breeze inside pirates or maelstrom, splash mountain, etc.???

I dont know what it is, but something about that smell makes me automatically realize where i am...im at DISNEY!

I have never really noticed a stale smell anywhere in WDW. However, I do realize I am at Disney when I smell the bakery on Main Street.

I love the water smell, another really good place to get the water smell is inside the lobby at the Polynesian.

I like the water smell as well, takes me right to WDW. Lou did a whole episode on the smells of Disney.

I know exactly the smell you are talking about!

I used to live by the Palisades Mall in the Nyack, NY area... they had (past tense) a Rainforest Cafe right near the entrance that I always entered through, and the RC had a misty water feature with an "animatronic" type alligator in it... I'd get that whiff of "water smell" and instantly think "Ahhh... Disney World..."

I can see a hidden Mickey in my child's ketchup on his plate, or I can hear someone whistle "hi ho, hi ho..." and instantly have that WDW thought... It's funny how smells can do that to you too!

I love the smell. It brings me back to Disney any time I smell it. Lou covered it on the podcast back a while ago on the Top 10 Smells at Walt Disney World segment. Smell is one of our senses most closely connected to our emotions so when we connect a smell to a place-smelling it outside of that place can REALLY bring you back.

yeah i know what youre talking about. i think its probably the treatment. ive smelled it at every amusement park i go to, but even if im at cedar point, i automatically think Disney

So funny how smells can take you back instantly! I was driving down the road today and smelt diesel fuel and I had the air on low, it took me back to riding on a Disney bus with the air on and that smell. Ahhh lol, so weird but I loved it! lol. Then the smell of the trains, and I smell it every time I'm near the train tracks around town. I know how you feel.

Can't wait to get that "water smell" in November!! I should bottle some up, then crack it open when I want to "escape" to WDW.

And we purchased a new refrigerator this year, with a water/ice dispenser. The first drink both my DD and I said POR hotel, room facet water.

I love the water smell at Disney. Whenever I smell that smell at home I get super happy and will be like it smells like Disney water.

I know exactly what you mean. That musty water smell Lou mentioned! It really is one of those classic smells of WDW.
