    Walt Disney Poem?

Alright. Here's the deal. I'm only a junior in high school and for my honors english class, I have to hand in a poem on wednesday... the object of the poem is to use "Persona..." (whatever that means... i definitely should start paying attention.) Basically, we have to choose someone from history ( hint hint) and write a poem from THEIR point of view... including at least 2 experiences from their lifetime! SO WHO BETTER THAN WALT DISNEY. Anyone got any ideas for experiences... or poems themselves even lol? (I'm such a horrible student lol)

You might find ideas in how Walt Disney had experienced failures before success, or how he had faith in his ideas when no one else did. Grab a biography of Walt and a book of quotations, and get to work! (Can you tell I'm a mother?)

Haha. That is a good idea. I'm just gonna make it so childish-sounding with like quick little rhymes... it'll be awesome. I can't wait. ! ! :mickey:

Here I lie old Uncle Walt,
No I am not frozen in a Vault.
DL and DW I created it all,
I hid that Mickey on the wall.
The two finger point was in honor of me,
If I had stopped smoking I would still be....

Alright. I'm done. I wrote it. dzney4lyf... I hope you dont mind, but I used the first two lines of your amazingly original poem. I just liked it that much. If there's anything anyone thinks I should change... TELL MEEEE!

Here I lie, good old Walt

No, I am not frozen in a vault.

The dreams of my life have all been fulfilled

Seeing the look on a child’s face, when they’re completely thrilled.

    Marceline, Missouri was my hometown

Sixty-five years was how long I was around.

I knew I had talent when I was quite small

Who knew what I would accomplish, when I became tall?

Imagination is something I have always possessed.

Using yours is certainly something that I would suggest.

I created two worlds, in which adults became kids

Acting too mature is something I forbid

Fantasy and magic is what I’m all about

With a hint of the future, which I couldn’t do without

I am glad I have been welcomed into every American’s house

But we all must remember…it all started with a mouse.

    YAY!:mickey:

Now then. I can't wait to read it to my entire English class! They already know I'm psycho and that I'm a Disney obsessed person... so they expect something like this from me. I'll keep you posted on my grade.

Great Job egran125, I am a high school special ed teacher and I currently teach English to my students. I have to say that was a wonderful poem. I was very impressed with your use of facts and and ability to tell about Walt's life in such a short poem. I am sure you are going to get a good grade on that.

Wow, thanks guys! I read it to the class and everyone loved it... so I'm just waiting now for my teacher to grade it... which usually takes a while... since he's lazy like that. But thanks for the help!

AWESOME poem! You definantly deserve a good grade. And don't worry about being Disney obsessed and trying to do all your school projects on all that's Disney, I am making for my final project in my model-making theatre class the set of Beauty and the Beast.
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow, just a dream away!
Prince Charming, will you marry me?
I saw on TV that listening to Mozart makes you smart. So if you listen to Elvis, you'll become a GENIUS!
