World runners

I just wanted to know how many other what I will call " World Runners." Those who have or are planning on running a race no matter how small it will be at the world? My husband has run a half marathon and the 13k Tower of terror last year, and is hoping to run it again this year. I have run the family fun run Marathon weekend 2005 as well as the 13k last year. and I am going to do the 5K at the tower this year. Our newest runner is our 2 year old who will be running the diaper dash at the tower weekend this year. But I just wanted to know if there were anyone else that is into running in the world as we have become.

I love the Disney races! This coming year I'm going to be at the Tower 13K, Race for the Taste 10K, and the full marathon for sure. I want to try the Everest 5K too but I'm not sure. I've run the marathon every year since 05 and did the Goofy last year! The races at Disney are the greatest!

My husband and I did the Race for the Taste last October and had a wonderful time! The atmosphere, scenery, food, etc. was unlike any other! Seeing Mickey at the finish was icing on the cake and brought tears to my eyes! (I know . . . I cry easily!) We may extend our trip this year to run the Tower of Terror 13K.

I want to run the half marathon soon. This year I am only doing the 5K because I want to see my husband come in through the finish line for the 13k. last year I was the last in our group of six to finish. 1:45 not bad for my first 13K. My father in law was 54 min but he runs all the time. He has gotten second in his age group in the half Marathon for the past two or three years. He one first at the 13K for his age this past year. That is why he likes the race so much. The one thing that we did not know about was the fact that the road turn into dirt about three miles into the race fore a mile or two. That and you had walkers in the front of the race were they did not belong as well as the people that were doing cardo work i guess. they would run then there watch or something would beep and they would stop dead and walk. I ran into so many of them... As soon as I heard the beep i would have to figure out how to get around them..... What a pain.

one thing that you should know if your going to run the Tower of Terror race. Get there very early. last year it took us over 45 min to get from POR Riverside to the studios. The main reason was that the city buses were blocking off two lanes of traffic. they kept cutting in and out of traffic it was nuts. i know that this year they have changed a few things about the parking, but were still getting the sitter early and heading on over so we can see everything this year. i love the fact that there doing the little kids races this year. Our Daughter will love it. And she will get her own medal. that she can wear the rest of the day as well as on Sunday with us... Cute photo Op... Other then that the race was great and i can not wait to run the 5 K this year....

Flutter and I did the 1/2 marathon this year. It was a wonderful time. If you go to my blog and go to January you can find a slideshow from it.
I also did Minnie marathon weekend last year (15k and 5k) and the Everest Challenge. This year I plan on doing the Disneyland 1/2 so I can get my Coast to Coast medal and the Tower of Terror race. After that, who knows. My DD wants to do the 5k during the Princess 1/2 next year.

I am happy to say that I am going to be walking the Princess Half Marathon in March...I actually made my hotel ressies today

I decided to change my life and get healthy....I quit smoking! It will be 10 weeks Monday! I decided to replace it with fitness...I do a walk/run combo at least 5 times a week...I cant wait for the Marathon

I am currently registered to do the Half Marathon in Jan, am highly considering doing the Princess Half in March and the EE Challenge in Sept, and am thinking about doing the ToT 13K and Race for the Taste 10K. I am really excited!

First of all, Athenna, YOU ARE AWESOME! I completely admire and respect someone with the will power to not only quit smoking, but also start a running habit. Way to go and keep up the great work. Having a goal to train toward makes the day to day running so much easier, and there is no better goal than a Disney race!

I ran the World Marathon in this year and had such a great time, signed up to go Goofy in 2010. Not my first, but certainly one of the best i've done. I would recommend it to any runner, new or old!

Congrats on going the Goofy in 2010....I have a few friends doing it as well....I am unable to take any vaca time from work in Jan, but soooo looking forward to the Princess in March.
