Aladdin on Broadway

I am a huge Broadway fan and Aladdin is my absolute favorite movie. I just found out that two guys are working on bringing my favorite movie to the Broadway stage!!! Think of how awesome the magic carpet ride and Genie would be in all of their magical glory on stage. the music would be great. Imagine Prince Ali's entrance and his parade into the palace! Now this is probably way off, but I am so excited and just had to share. now if only they could finally bring their stage version of Hunchback that ran in Germany to NYC. I would be so excited. Oh...and Jafar is my favorit4e character of all-time too!!!

Well there is already an approx. 45 minute long version at the Hyperion Theatre in DCA. All they would need to do is flesh that out a bit for two acts and an intermission. It's done quite well. I thought is was much better than the Snow White production showing in the Fantasyland area.

I've heard this, but I've also heard this is untrue. They are working on The Little Mermaid and Tarzan right now.

If you go to www.comingsoon.net and look under the article about a Wedding Singer" musical, the last paragraph says that one of the book writer for "Wedding Singer" is currently working on Aladdin.

Chad Beguelin and Matthew Sklar's previous projects include The Rhythm Club and Wicked City. Beguelin is currently at work on the book for the stage version of Disney's Aladdin, and Sklar is writing the musical adaptation of the film "Get Shorty."
