| There`s always that one person..... Who thinks Disney is for kids. Don`t get me wrong it very Kid friendly, but it`s just as fun for adults as well. People favor Busch gardens and Universal over Disney because of thrill rides. Thrill rides are not a big factor when choosing your favorite park.Sure Disney might not have the greatest thrill rides(ToT,Mission Space,Rockin` roller coaster, Test track,Everest,BTM,) OK yes Disney has great thrill rides. My point being, people today judge a park by it`s rides. Nothing wrong with that, but it`s not all about rides. In terms of sheer atmosphere,Resorts, and employees(CM),WDW takes the cake. Now I`m not bashing Busch gardens and Universal, I`m sure Busch gardens is wonderful(haven`t been there). And Universal is an AMAZING park. The hulk is my favorite roller coaster ever, and Spider-man is such a unique attraction. But in the end, Disney is the top dog. My rant is now over. What do you all think on the matter?

| Re: There`s always that one person..... I know... its the worst! I went to Florida with my bfs family a few summers ago and we did Busch Gardens, Universal, Discovery Cove and the Disney Parks, and while my bf and his mom both love Disney, his brother thought they were the worst parks. We're going again this August and I'm almost not looking forward to it, since he's been making comments lately about rides, such as how they "wasted" time and effort on ToT by adding all the twilight zone stuff and all that "stupid stuff" before they drop you. He said it ruined the ride and that they should have just sticked to dropping people and not bored him with all the backstory and theming. He also said that the 40 minutes we waited in line at Expedition Everest was totally not worth it cause the ride didnt have any huge drops and didnt go upside down or anything. He clearly totally misses the point and for him the money should be spent on the thrill rather than the theming. It just makes me sad that I have to go spend time at my favorite place on earth with someone who doesnt enjoy it and who is going to complain about it the whole time ![]() Just as a note, I do like the other parks... just... not even CLOSE to how much I love Disney (I watched the planning DVD today and cried cause it made me so happy haha... I have issues). |

| Re: There`s always that one person..... While Disney will always be my favorite resort by a long shot, I love all the other parks too. Some of their attractions are actually better, but the over all theming of Disney's parks are the deal breaker, they are the best. I equally hate people who place a minimum age on children going to Disney. My DD's first trip was at 2 months and DS was at 14 months. Family time has no age limits. ![]() |

| Off to Neverland! | Re: There`s always that one person..... I never went to Disney looking for thrill rides. I'm not a thrill ride person. I get enough of that flying small planes. I go to Disney for the whole effect. It's the atmosphere and immersion I go for. I still can't fully describe why I love it so much.

![]() Seriously, part of being on a group vacation is ****ing it up once & a while & doing what the group wants, even if it isn't your first choice. I can't do too many thrill rides (I get motion sick in a car...much less yet a roller coaster. ) I like WDW for the service & how they make me feel. When you are interacting w/99% of the CM's you are the most important person in their day (at least at that moment). I like leaving the "real world" behind, immersing myself somewhere happy & feeling special. Only other place I've ever found that compares is Mohegan Sun (casino in CT). They have that "Disney-way" down cold. The staff there really know how to make you feel special & important. The reason I go on a vacation is to get away, forget the world & its troubles & just be happy. And WDW does that to a perfect T!

Haha, I don't think he would care about lacking customer service! In fact, he liked Busch Gardens better than Islands of Adventure even... it seems that the bigger the rides and the worse the theming/cleanliness/customer service the better haha. The worst part is that I never once complain about going to all the other parks they want to go to and in fact enjoy them as well (just not as much as Disney). They know how much I love Disney and he (as well as his mom, even though she loves Disney and HATES thrill rides) seem to get an enjoyment out of picking out anything that Universal has that Disney doesnt. I've been bombarded lately with Harry Potter stuff and how "too bad Disney didnt get the bid" on it at their parks and how Universal will really be "way superior" when it opens. I was looking forward to going to Islands of Adventure to see all the Harry Potter stuff but all their talk about how much better it will be than Disney is making me just resent it and want to find any possible negetives and issues with it! Anyways, if they think they can make me love Disney World any less they are sorely mistaken! haha

I hate toxic people like that...nothing is good enough & they never seem to be really happy. Very sad & at times I feel bad for them, but boy when you are around them they drive you crazy! Good luck on your vaca. Hopefully you can split up from time to time & get some relief from the negative folks. Otherwise just smile, nod your head & ignore them. If you don't let them get you, they will eventually give up & find someone else to torment.

On the last trip I got in trouble for suggesting splitting up... breaking up the family on a vacation is a horrible thing to wish apparently , but she has already suggested we will have to split up sometimes on this trip. Plus, its two whole weeks including two days in a car there and back... I'm sure we'll all need breaks from each other! haha

| Re: There`s always that one person..... Look, I'm 14 years old, i've talked to kids in 6th grade who think they're already too old for Disney. I tell them all they see when they think of Disney is Dumbo, Small World, and Winnie the Pooh. Well, I show them some other places and I can see that they've changed there minds a bit. its all about making sure they see the world as a whole |

Same! I'm 15 and my friends think I'm weird when I talk about Disney. My parents are always telling me I'm "too old for Disney." But once people finally get to the parks and see it for themselves, they understand. I mean, have they ever heard of Epcot?

| Re: There`s always that one person..... Sadly, that is not always true. The bf's brother that I speak of was actually excited for Disney before he went and found that the rides he was excited for were very disappointing for him after going on the huge roller coasters of Busch gardens. Mind you, he does GENERALLY enjoy Disney... just not as much as other parks. The majority of people I have been to Disney with when it was their first time loved it, but there have been two other people (cousins) who didn't enjoy it at all. Oh so sad! haha. It definetly isn't an age thing though... I know I have family members who are always asking when I'm going to "grow out of it" (usually behind my back!), but I've loved Disney World since Grade 5 and it's 13 years later and I love it even more if that's possible! |
