I also agree with updating the figures. I'd like to see them do away with that little acting show that goes on. It's just silly.. I really like the movie montage but then I am a huge fan of movies of all kinds. I think that part should be kept very current as a tribute to the up and coming classics.

Re: Fix the Great Movie Ride

I would like to see 2 things....

    1. do fantasia a service and make it an actual scene... not just a necessary replacement for the tornado scene in oz

    2. really have an ending... the video montage is aright but what about their original plan... to have all the animatronics take a bow at the end (after the video) on all of the side walls... now that would be a cool sendoff...

I rode this for the first time last year and although I liked it, it was just too out of date for me, especially with what they can do with animatronics and such today. Plus all the movies are out of date and aren't of much interest for todays generation...I'd say don't change it with 'in the now' films that are just a flash in the pan, but good long life films that are more than just a fad, just more up to date ones from the 80s onwards

I rode this for the first time last year and although I enjoyed it and at least knew of, if not knew, most of the films in it...I think it defo needs an upgrade especially with what they can do with the animatronics these days. Also more recent films would be good...the younger generation (well I'm 33) most likely will not know of Casablanca and such. Not flash in the pan films, just more recent classics.

And I agree the ending with all the animatronics coming 'out of the wood work' to take a bow would be AWESOME

Disney's forgotten the word 'great' in the title of this ride.
Really, Walt? Disneyland is MY land? Why would I want a silly little land when I can have the WORLD.

I wish they would fix the dead show elements. Like the Gangster Car that no longer crashes into the room. Like no water in the Busby Berkeley section. Stuff like that.

The gangster car still works. However, the water was completely removed for good from the Footlight Parade scene (the scene was leaking, and the water was ruining the track).

Wow. I haven't seen the gangster car work in years. As of last July it was down. I'm glad they fixed that element.

I know about the leak, but that is a blue sky fix.

Re: Fix the Great Movie Ride

The times I have been there the car has worked... personally i think the biggest cop out Disney made on the "Good" movie ride was the Fantasia scene... originally supposed to be a tornado scene for OZ... and then just given a screen to show Mickey from Sorcerer... they could have made that so much better... and I still believe they can... they have chose not to

Actually, I wouldn't mind if it were a little longer, haha.
I'm with you. I'd like the movie clip to be longer, as well!

Keeping it as is sort of encapsulates it as a classic Hollywood ride. I'd be afraid that someone would suggest putting in more modern "classics" which I think need the test of time before really being consider classic. I don't know...for some reason it just charms me. Reminds me of the Studios experience from when I first went there. And I'm okay with it staying the same.
I agree. The whole point of the movie is not to show current ones, but movie making back in it's heyday! Plus, replacing the Alien scene with Star Wars? Um, wasn't Star Wars made in 1977? Two years BEFORE Alien? Unless you're talking about the Jar Jar Binks Star Wars movies and then NO THANK YOU.

Yes but remember Casablanca is the definition of a Classic Film and it is after all titled "The Great Movie Ride"
