Fix the Great Movie Ride

When I rode the great movie ride with my kids in December, I realized that the ride is quite out of date with many of its movies. So the question I have for each of you is what scene would you take out of the ride and what would you replace it with.

I would remove the Alien scene and replace it with a scene from Star Wars.

I would not be sad for that scene to go away either. I really do not mind any of the scenes per-say however, it needs a new spark or two or a new theme for the actors. I love the ride yet I guess I am also bored with it also.

Feel the same way with Indiana Jones, it is time.

I remember as a kid riding it the gang since was really great the acting was great as well however on when i went back in Jan this year I thought the whole of GMR needs doing. The main one I would change is Tarzan just because he looks so plastic.

With all the changes going on at dhs it is starting to look dated. Disney MGM was about classic hollywood and not Disney Channel and Pixar. It is start to look out of place.

I like all of the scenes themselves, but some of the animatronic people need updating. So I think everything should stay the same, but the characters should be replaced.

I think they should close it for a couple of months, refresh some things like the script, and maybe add some new scenes in place of some of the uneeded scenes. I'd replace the very last wizard of oz scene with all the characters with a scene from the titanic. That's such a classic now and it would be recognized by everyone from kids to even elderly people because its not a new movie, but its still current. A star wars scene would be good too.

I agree too. It really needs an update. I know it's really geared towards old Hollywood but I think there can be some plussing. Is it me or the final movie clip scene seem a tad long.

I'm a huge fan of the classics, so it's a lot of fun to watch those clips and try to figure out what movies the less obvious ones are from.
Actually, I wouldn't mind if it were a little longer, haha.

I think updating it would have a counter-effect on the ride. It still covers the classics (i.e. Oz, Casablanca) and the later era movies it covers (Indy, Alien) are only becoming more classic in filmdom. Keeping it as is sort of encapsulates it as a classic Hollywood ride. I'd be afraid that someone would suggest putting in more modern "classics" which I think need the test of time before really being consider classic. I don't know...for some reason it just charms me. Reminds me of the Studios experience from when I first went there. And I'm okay with it staying the same.

Yeah...Im not too sure I'd change it. I like beingyoung and seeing some of the old movies that have been classics. It would have to be a completely different ride to incorporate newer movies. I like this ride how it is.

Last time they've updated anything, we've ended up with what's now the TTA and Journey Into Imagination for examples. Although it would be nice to see some new show scenes, but I don't want to see any of them go away. What's nice about GMR is that all the more recent films are represented in a movie mantage, which could easily be updated and changed.

its funny, I find myself riding this ride more for the tradition of riding it not because its good. Every time I ride it I'm so bored. My wife on her first trip rode it, I said oh you have to ride this if your at MGM (oops). And then I was finding myself to be embarassed by the ride as if it was an embarassing uncle in my family or something haha

Keep it the way it is!!! I have no problem with updating the audioanamatronics, but there is no need to replace any of the scenes.

I'd like to keep it the way it is, refresh the scenes maybe with better AA's and stuff, but I think the scenes should stay the same.
