Disney Vacation Planning DVDs

Am I the only one that thinks that the vacation planning dvds are not as good as they used to be? It was either the 2005 or 2006 one where hosts took you around Walt Disney World. Now it is just 40 minutes of saying how magical the place is while barely even showing anything of the resort. Don't get me wrong I like them to get my Disney World fix and I only recently orderd the 2010 edition, but still come on Disney, we know it is magical, now show us why it is magical.

i think they need to make new travel channel shows.. the season of disney ones are so old to me.. i feel like i have been watchin them for 5 yrs

Yes they are not as good as they use to be. I think it was the 2005 where you actually traveled around the parks and saw the sites. It was a mini travelogue and was well made. Now it seems they do not put any effort in the videos.

I have not seen the 2005 ones. I believe we only have 2006 and 2010 ones.

I agree, they aren't as good but I still order a new one every year. I also agree with Chrissy on the Travel Channel shows. They need to update. I was really disappointed in the "Disney on a Dime" one. Maybe because what they gave as tips were ones I already knew and really weren't that great to begin with. Although I do admit I find myself watching them when they come on! I also think that the "Season of Disney" specials contributed to the high level of park attendance that should have taken a hit due to a down economy

I actually thought the old 97 VCR was more helpful, but I definitely agree they have gone down hill on their helpfulness.

I agree, and like all the other homogenization being done to Disney (restaurants, stores) so are the planning DVD's, if you watch the WDW version then the DL version alot of it is the same footage. They have so many differences to embrace and they are not getting that across, I guess they are basically telling us that we only need to go to one park.

i watched the disneyland show on travel channel the other day and was shocked how different this trip would be.. even though its disney.. i believe it will be so different. as far as experiences go

Agree. Ordered the new one yesterday anyway. Just watched the 2010 version. I'm hoping, but doubtful, there is any big change to the newest one. But I'll watch it anyway! Probably multiple times.

Well, When planning my trip on the Disney web site I saved my choice for later. I had later received an email asking me if I wanted to order a planning dvd. Hoping it's not the one I already have.
