    Wifi?

I'll be in Disney with my family in 20 days. My boyfriend is having problems with his college professors allowing him to turn in quizzes/tests/homework before we leave. He has some online classes where the professors told him they will only accept assignments on the due date. We are never on computers while on vacation, but I guess this trip he will have to pack his laptop. Can anyone tell me where any free wifi is as close to WDW as possible? Anything close to DTD would be great...or if anyone can give me any info about wifi on property that'd be helpful too. Thanks!

    Re: Wifi?

you can pay to get it in your room.. which would be the eziest i would think.. then i believe there is common areas in the lobby you can use it.. then of course McDonalds has it.

i tried the common areas the last trip and i never could get linked up...lol

    Re: Wifi?

The majority of the rooms are not WiFi. They are wired and wire is in your room. Last time I checked it was $10 per day. If he only has to use it a few times it might be worth it verse slepping somewhere to use it for free.

I know Panera, McDonalds, Starbucks have WiFi. I know one of the members here went to the local public library.

Hopefully one of our local members will see this and be able to give you some more specifics.

    Re: Wifi?

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping that he barely has to use it and we can just pay to use it for a day or two in the room. That way he can just get things finished up in the evenings before bed and we won't have to be taking time out our days to be in an internet cafe somewhere.

The only way you get free internet at the resorts is if you are a DVC member.

Unfortunately not...his online assigments do not get posted until only 3 days before they are due..so he won't even know what he has to work on until we're already down there.

Thanks for all the feedback. Does anybody know if the McDonald's on property near the All Star resorts has free wifi?

    Re: Wifi?

Not all McDonalds offer Wi-Fi at all, although the ones that do are supposedly all free now (some you had to pay a fee).

The one on near the All-Stars did not offer Wi-Fi last I knew, but the one on 192 did.

At one point, Wi-Fi in the Beach Club lobby was free, and I think at the cafe at Wide World of Sports you can get it, but officially the hotspots on property have a similar $10/day fee to the in-room wired internet.

    Re: Wifi?

You could pull up to pretty much any hotel on 192 and use their connection from the parking lot.

Really? I've traveled a fair bit this year. While most had free WiFi they gave us a code to connect to their WiFi at check-in.

    Re: Wifi?

Well, when not staying on property I usually stay at Wyndham owned properties. They don't use any barrier. For work I sometimes stay with InterContinental Group hotels, I don't recall them using a code.

Beyond that I guess to can't say to be honest. So look for one of those ;-)

    Re: Wifi?

that would be a sight though... sitting in a car in the parking lot on a laptop typing up a paper... on vacation in WDW... sounds like the best vacation... that is terrible that they wont even give him anything to make this any easier...
