You're welcome.
I know I don't post much but I have to say just how much I enjoy reading people's views on WDW. When so much of the online community focuses on the negative aspects of place ad naseum it's nice to come to a site that realizes it's still a great place.
So thank you everyone.

Yeah, I totally agree with this. There are so many Disney forums on the internet and sadly there are a lot of posters on there who only focus on the negative aspects of the parks/company. Sometimes it can really create a damper on things... that very rarely happens on this site. Very refreshing!

Agree
That is kinda where I am.
I so agree with decorum and not enjoying condescending opinions. I do find the need to hear the pro's and con's of both Disney and the Parks. I find no use for a positive review if a negative one is called for.
While I do enjoy being a part of this forum I'd be disappointed if I knew I was not getting an honest review or recommendation. If it is awful, I'd rather know that.
The best current example I can point to is the WDW Radio Dream Cruise. Some loved every single thing about it. Others loved most. Still others found it not to be up to their previous cruising standards. If only positive items were posted I'd be disappointed being on the Dream believing I wasn't on the best sailing of the Dream subsequently. There are listed negative staterooms to stay in with just cause. I've learned the adult pool isn't quiet as I would expect. That is not a positive however I rather know it is not tranquil rather than being surprised when I went to chill some afternoon. The cruise has a thread of comments. Positive and negative, I appreciate that.
Some people are like Slinkies.
They aren't really good for anything,
but they still bring a smile to my face when I push them down a flight of stairs.
Friends are Gods way of apologizing to us for our families.
I agree with all of that... except for the adult pool on the dream not being quiet haha... it was dead 90% of the time I was there! Most of the time we were only ones there and I never once remember thinking it was loud. Lots of people sitting in chairs reading quietly. although... maybe we were the loud ones(I doubt it!). Hooo boy was that family pool area nuts though, it made me glad I dont have kids so I didnt have to brave it!
Not the point though! While there are some times where people seem overly bashing or negative, in general I want an honest opinion of something. Ive for sure opted to skip restaurants based on honest reviews from this site![]()
Oh I have no problem if someone has experienced an attraction, stayed at a hotel or eaten at a restaurant they didn't care for to let people know about it. What I'm referring to is this constant nitpicking of everything at the parks many things before they're even put into place.

I wouldn't say it is constant. Some will like somethings, and others will not... and vice-versa. There you go - "constant" criticism, despite equally "constant" approval.

I see that here as well... but maybe not so much as other forums. But yes, the jumping to an (always negative) conclusion about something that may not be permenant or that might just be a rumor? Maybe I'm just naive to give Disney the benefit of the doubt unless proven otherwise, but I treat everything (and everyone) love in the same way... benefit of the doubt! Its all about attitude though![]()
Hm thats true, for the people who seem to find only negatives there are also those who will never say anything bad about Disney. Which- although I will give Disney the benefit of the doubt on a rumor or something like that, if they DO make a change I dont like, Im not going to pretend that I do!
There is however, a difference between discussing things you dont like about the company/parks or where you think improvements could be made, and having a downright mean, bashing manner... sometime I wonder why people are on forums like this at all if they seem to hate every single about Disney?...
Because Disney is a business and we are prolific consumers of its finished goods. It is a publicly-traded company, not a charity or some kindly grandmother. Disney has more than its share of faults as any other major corporation, indeed multiplied because it is based on and frequently evokes the legacy of an actual human being.
I personally have not encountered anyone on this forum who "hates every single thing" about Disney; they would not waste their time otherwise. Perhaps you may feel differently. When people come across as being overly negative, it is often for a purpose. If everything - or even most - of Disney's products are greeted with universal acclaim and praise, then I personally think it would make for vacuous, bland, dull conversation.
You would end up like KingCrab, for example, who would not tolerate any dissent...

I understand, but I stop paying attention to negative comments when they're from someone who is always negative. When people who generally love Disney have something bad to say, I pay attention. If everything someone posts is bashful then you kind of get a "well, they just hate everything so don't pay attention to their opinion" type of thought. There are a few people who I just skip over now because I don't think I've ever read a single happy thing. I've read trip reports where there was not one thing the poster enjoyed - not one! Either they had a horrible time and did not enjoy a thing, or they just choose to only share the negatives?
But for instance, I had a wonderful time on the cruise, but I had a horrible experience with Shutters. Just awful! and you know it must be bad if I'm complaining that much about it because I had such a great time otherwise, where as if someone is like "well this was horrible and this, and the food, and the pool and yada yada" I'm going to think "well, clearly they just hate everything and they're way too picky". Unless everyone (or even just a lot of people) are hating the whole thing, then Im going to believe them! I do the same thing with people who just love every single thing and have not a bad thing to say...
