    Question What if?

I like to look back at my life from time to time and wonder what if I had made different decisions. This got me to thinking a What if about Walt Disney.

What if Walt Disney never lost Oswald the Lucky Rabbit thus never created Mickey Mouse?
    • Do you think he would have been as successful and created all the other things he did?
    • Do you think he would have created Disneyland?

"I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a...rabbit"? Which is, maybe, a bit funnier in it's own right...!

I started a similar thread on here a while back (that I wouldn't even know where to find at this point) along a similar vein...somethin' like "What if Walt woulda' lived another 20-30 years?" From drawing pictures of a local farmers horse in Marceline, to high school newspaper cartoonist, to animator, to live action films, to Disneyland, to Epcot...who knows...we may have already colonized Mars by now...!
Yes, Walt surrounded himself with people that could make his visions come true, as is indeed true of many great visionaries, but ultimately, wether it was Oswald or Mickey, I think we'd all still be very pleased in the end!

I think we would have eventually gotten to where we are today with the exception perhaps of MM as the main character.

Could you imagine MM as the wing man to the main character? Kinda like Donald or Goofy is to the Mouse now!

It would be neat to have Oswald in the parks now.

Yep. Wether it was Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Mickey Mouse, or Finny Fish, it was all just ancillary to Walt's ultimate overall vsion and path. He was goin' where he was goin'...no matter what!

I've got an Oswald t-shirt and plush. That's all the merchandise we've had of him in the Store, so far (at least, since I've been a CM there). I hope, as time goes by, he starts to take on a larger role in his true home. I think it would be neat, too.
Plus...we need an Oswald smiley here...!

Imagine the great rabbit battles as Bugs Bunny and Oswald battled for rabbit supremacy.
