New Orleans Square in Walt Disney World SURVEY
I was thinking, and I thought it would be cool if they put NOS in WDW. I think it would be a cool idea. There could be a Princess and the Frog dark ride or they could add the Pinocchio or Alice In Wonderland rides that are currently in DL only. Or even Mr Toad. Let me know what you think:
1. Where in the park could it be?
2. What size? (Adventure/Frontier, Toontown/Liberty, Tomorrow/Fantasy, etc)
3. What rides/shows could be brought back/moved/created to make the area more attractive?
4. Should the name be altered or the same?
5. Do you like Liberty Sqaure of New Orleans Square better?
6. What about Critter Country?

Re: New Orleans Square in Walt Disney World SURVEY
I'm not sure how I feel about having a NOS. But to answer your Critter Country question- Disney World already has the attractions in Critter Country spread out among the Magic Kingdom, so having one would be pointless...

Re: New Orleans Square in Walt Disney World SURVEY
I feel that having New Orleans Square in Walt Disney World would be a bad idea for several reasons.
New Orleans Square is unique to Disneyland just as Liberty Square is unique to Walt Disney World.
Having New Orleans Square in Walt Disney World would break the Liberty Square / Frontierland continuity of Liberty Square representing the original colonies and Frontierland representing the westward expansion of America by introducing a more specific location. New Orleans Square would simply be out of place.
Would New Orleans Square have its own version of Pirates of The Caribbean?
After all, if Walt Disney had simply wanted to build a Disneyland East, that's what he would have done. Instead of each park being a mirror image of the other, let's be thankful for their differences (as well as their similarities).

Re: New Orleans Square in Walt Disney World SURVEY
I prefer to keep NOS unique to DLR and have MK with it's own unique Liberty Square.

Re: New Orleans Square in Walt Disney World SURVEY
I love NOS in Disneyland, but agree with NC_WDW_Daddy that I would prefer it to unique to DL - it makes it just that little bit more special when you get to visit the West coast. I feel the same way about most attractions that are only in one of the parks - otherwise you'd just end up with direct duplicates and nothing particular special about that one location.

Re: New Orleans Square in Walt Disney World SURVEY
Did you guys know that Walt was going to build Disney World in New Orleans.
There are two different stories that I've heard of why he didn't.
1.They jacked up the prices of the land and Walt said no.
2.New Orleans is below sea levl.
Personally, i believe that its the sea levl thing.
Either way, i like braggin about New Orleans any chance i can get.
PS, im watching Winnie The Pooh

I've noticed.
New Orleans Square wouldn't fit in Disney World. Just like UBMICK35000 said about Liberty Square fitting in with Frontierland and such, New Orleans Square fits in with the plantation style Haunted Mansion and Critter Country. NOS is the city of the south, HM is the plantations, and Critter Country is the bayou. It all works to Disneyland alone. WDW's MK would need a Critter Country to make it work.
I'm a strong advocate of the "keep the parks different from each other" campaign, however.

I have not heard about building a Disneyland in New Orleans (although it was one of Walt's favorite cities).
The real site was suppose to have been St. Louis, MO. It was going to be indoors and the Haunted Mansion would have replaced the castle.
St. Louis was suppose to have been Walt's first choice for a location and he had always wanted to do something in the state where he grew up.
At a banquet the night before Walt's decision was to be announced, someone is supposed to have called Walt crazy to build something like that in St. Louis and not serve alcohol. Either it was the mayor of St. Louis or August Busch the head of Busch Brewing (which was headquartered in St. Louis). Supposedly there were two things you did not do to Walt Disney. One was to question his ethics or his morals and second you did not insult him in public. The next day he told his people he was going with his second choice for a location and the rest is history.
Check though back issues of D23 magazine. One of them had a floor plan and some concept art.
