Thanks Jenn. I just watched the video. What a gross mess. Bet the CM's are going to have a fit having to clean up that sticky mess. Can't imagine the Board of Health is going to care for it either.
Looks like they are going to have to tweak it some more before they put that into the Grand Floridian.
Some people are like Slinkies.
They aren't really good for anything,
but they still bring a smile to my face when I push them down a flight of stairs.
Friends are Gods way of apologizing to us for our families.

Good news! Coffee is not yet affected! Hopefully it will stay that way.

I never understood the reuse of mugs. If you can swing a trip to Disney, and you plan to drink a good bit from these machines, why not just buy a new one? It's not a huge cost when you factor into it the convenience, selection, and practicality. I would never be able to remember to bring my old mugs anyway.
The fact that they are doing this leads me to believe that the program will move more to a "worldwide" use. Why would a family on the Dining Plan, in which they can eat anywhere on property, be limited to just their resort for drinks? By utilizing the refillable mugs, I imagine they would cut down on some of the trash involved in soda cups and bottles.
Why rebuy the same thing if you don't have too? I've had the same mug since the mid 90s. I drink coffee only, which is provided in the rooms. I don't use the room coffee they provide, but instead get it from the drink dispenser. What's the difference to Disney?..they don't have to restock my in-room coffee which probably costs more per unit than what I get from the urn in the drink area.

I understand that point. For a long time, you're right, you didn't have to buy another mug and no one questioned the practice, so no worries.
It seems to me like that time is over.
I guess I'll find that out on my next trip. According to the article the new rfid chips are only on the soda machines so I may get even more use out of my ancient mug. Keep your fingers crossed for me!![]()

It is hard for some people to understand that it is stealing because it is not like Mickey and the Disney Lawyers are gonna come and arrest you. People try to justify it like they do with illegally downloading music, movies, and video games.
