New Drop Tower For Magic Kingdom!

I just found this Press Release on another site:

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

    Lake Buena Vista, FL

Walt Disney World made the surprise announcement today that construction would soon commence on a new drop-tower thrill ride, to be located in the Fantasyland section.

"We felt like we could do more to enhance our New Fantasyland. As Walt Disney said, 'Disneyland will never be completed as long as there is imagination left in the world'", said Tom Staggs, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. "In that same spirit, we are proud to announce 'Maleficent's Plunge'", gushed Staggs.

The new ride will be built as a joint collaboration between Swiss ride manufacturer Intamin and Walt Disney Imagineering. Standing 400 feet tall, it will be both the tallest landmark and tallest attraction in all of Walt Disney World.

"We looked at Falcon's Fury, the drop tower Busch Gardens is adding this year, and thought, 'How can we make it better?' Their tower will be 300 feet, so we contacted Intamin and asked, 'can you go up to 400?' Their answer was yes, and we are pleased as punch with how the design is coming along!", he beamed.

But when will it be ready?

"Well, Walt Disney built Disneyland in a year in 1955, but, based on the 4 years it just took us to cobble together New Fantasyland, we are hoping for a 2020 opening date. If we are running a little behind schedule, we are confident it will be ready by our 50th anniversary in 2021. We are absolutely positive it will be open to the public no later than April 1, 2021!"
    Some people are like Slinkies.

They aren't really good for anything,
but they still bring a smile to my face when I push them down a flight of stairs.

Friends are Gods way of apologizing to us for our families.

I had a difficult time trying to figure out which forum to place it in. Rumors was just too easy.

article sounded somewhat credible until I saw that Disney asked if the tower could be 400 feet and the response was "yes!"

Here is another one. I like this one better. From Dis Dining

Le Cellier Steakhouse to Undergo Major Refurbishment

Today it was announced that the popular Le Cellier Steakhouse at Epcot is going to close on July 31. The location will be renovated and remodeled, and is expected to reopen as an Outback Steakhouse location sometime before the holidays. The menu will feature all of your Outback favorites, including the Filet with Wild Mushroom Sauce, Ribs & Chicken on the Barbie, and, of course, the Bloomin’ Onion.Spokesman Paul Scott said that he thinks that Outback will be a good fit at Epcot. “Most people think of Australia when it comes to Outback, but there are actually 27 locations of the chain in Canada. You can’t get more Canadian than that.” Scott also stated the interior of the restaurant will have the same charm, and the staff will continue to wear the same uniforms. “We know that most guests will be happy with the update,” Scott said, “because they know what to expect from Outback. The name will remain Le Cellier, we’re just changing the brand.”
Lunch and dinner at the refurbished restaurant will still require two credits on the Disney Dining Plan. Canadian wines will be removed from the menu, and will be replaced with Mini Milkshakes. The popular Maple Crème Brûlée will no longer be served at Epcot, but it will be sold at Gaston’s Tavern at the Magic Kingdom instead.
“We know that some diehard fans will be upset about the change,” Scott said. “We would like to remind them to never believe anything that they read on April First.”
