So what do you win off your dad for being right....a trip to WDW at his expense?....lol
It's a Disney thing. If you understood, your only question would be "can I go?"

I once heard it was twice the size of Manhattan Island or the size of the San Francisco Peninsula.

in the history channel specials and the imagineers guide book
it says that it is twice the size of Manhattan
Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. - Walt Disney

Hello - way big.... he will definitely see how big once he starts walking all 4 parks.... I have been walking 2 miles lately, and it still doesn't compare to as much walking you will have to do in a day at 1 park.
April 23rd, oh yeah it's gonna be ON!

why don't we get this down to a somewhat smaller scale and say 28,000 acres. That is about 56,000 big subberban(sp?) homesites or 28,000 rural homesites. So If I stay in home terms and the big subberban homes have 4 people living in them that is about 224,000 people, 56,000 average American homes and that is mighty big. So there is a different look for ya.

Lou might be able to help me with the EXACT details on this one...

When I took Traditions (the CM training program) they mentioned also that only like 60% of the actual property is developed, and Uncle Walt himself stipulated that a certain portion would NEVER be developed.

    EDIT:

    Got this off of http://www.explorethemagic.com/disney-world-fact.asp

Covering 47 square miles, Walt Disney World Resort is about the size of San Francisco or two Manhattan islands. Of the more than 30,000 acres, less than one-fourth has been developed, with another quarter designated as a wilderness preserve.
    Sounds about right
