Miscellaneous Discuss If Walt Was Alive in the News & Rumors forums; I'm also thinking 90% of EPCOT wouldn't be there if Walt was around. He proboly would've made it into his city....

Epcot under Walt's vision would not have happened when he was faced with the reality of people living in WDW being able to have a voice in building codes and how the place was run.

When reality set in, Walt would have changed it.

Walt's vision for Epcot was created close to 20 years before it was built. There were areas in the conceptual drawings of Disneyland that never got built.

It's quite possible...the Epcot you see now is how Walt would have built it.

Agreed, Ray. His vision resembles the idea of Celebration, Fl...and now look at the town. Since the overhead company is slowly backing out, people are getting a voice and becoming democratic. I don't see how Epcot could have been different...it would have failed if it were a "perfect community", since thats socialistic in nature and imagine the WORK involved in the upkeep!

Good point. Walt was good for changing. In fact, he did say that EPCOT itself would be constantly changing since it was a "PROTOTYPE Community of Tommorow." Eventually, he proboly would've noticed that he can control everything except for people.
