    Trivia About Carousel of Progress

In reports of the original "Carousel of Progress" at the NY World's Fair, it is almost never mentioned that after guests saw the audio-animatronic presentation, they rode up a "Time Tube" (escalator with changing lights) and visited an actual demonstration of Nuclear Fusion presented by General Electric. The loud bang from this demonstration could often be heard even during the "Carousel" presentation.

The Carousel of Progress has had the most performances then any other stage show in the history of american theater... I also did a little history on the first episode of the Disney Resorts podcast.

When the COP opened at the NY World's Fair, it was called GE's Progressland. It was then relocated to Disneyland in 1967 and renamed Carousel of Progress.

One of the COP's precursors was from an exhibition from the 1933 Exposition in the Chicago Museum of Science that feature four typical rooms of Chicago houses in various decades prior to the exhibition
