Once you include resort guests AND annual pass holders that is almost everyone who goes. How does it make any sense to give everyone fast passes? You might as well not have them at all. The fast pass line would become just as long as the regular line.

Well stated!

As far as I know, I dont really like it. I could not listen to the last podcast because my iPod has been giving me troubles and I cant update past the december 10th one. I kinda like the way it as as first come first serve. Plus its kinda funny to walk past all the people who have never been there and dont know about it and see their reactions! LOL. And its free too. It gives everyone a chance. I like it the way it is. And fights dont break out over fastpass tickets either. And plus, my moms boyfriend would never go to disney if they never had fastpass...lol...he hates lines.

As a frequent park visitor, I could see the advantage of a central location for the fast-passes. The obvious problem with this is that the daily allocation would be out real quick and many of these passes might not be used. I think it would be fair to allocate a few fast pass coupons to guest at the resorts and to annual/seasonal pass holders, say two per day per person for guests and two per month for Passholders. That way, it would not overload the system and still make sure that guests get to the rides they really want to hit during their stay. These passes would be good anytime, not a specific hour to allow guest to make their daily plans without being required to be at a certain place at a certain time. The quest passes would be dated and good only on the date on the pass so they could not be saved or sold. Passholders would require ID to use theirs, again to prevent selling.

I hate it, seems very un-Magical. I am a DVC member & assume that would qualify me for the pay for fast-pass, but I still hate the idea. Is scrooge Mcduck now running things?????

Angry Bad Idea

I disagree with the idea of making people pay for Fast Pass. My boyfriend and I dont go on certain rides like Mission Space so why should we have to pay for Fast Pass if we dont use them all. Plus everything is already expensive..lets not add to it.

there is no way i would pay for the fastpass system. my feeling for the possible pay system is that, six flags has been using a pay system for a while, i had no idea universal was using the system...but then again, i have never been to that part of orlando....anyway, they might wanna get in on the action if people are willing to pay, why not. another thought on it would be, if im paying for a fast pass, i want the ability to get more then one fast pass with in an hour. if i dont have that ability, think of what would happen if i paid 30 bucks for the day, then get to the parks late during peak, grab a fast pass for everest only to have the fast pass telling me to return at 4 pm and it's 11 am now.. i would be alittle up set that now i have to wait to get another fast pass... sorry if i upset any one but those are my thoughts

although i do like the idea of it being free for resort guests, cause it's not likely i would ever stay off property any more.

Thumbs down

I think it's cheesy. Disney should not consider adding more and more to an already expensive proposition.

Great Idea

I just returned from a visit to Disney World and since I am from California I looked forward to the opportunity to see what the world is like. Before I went to Disney World I visisted Universal Studios and got one of their "fastpasses." I must say the pass was awesome. It made the experience very enjoyable. When I visited Disney World I couldn;t beleive the crowds and there was no strategy to avoiding crowds. The nice thing I have found about Disney Land is that at certain times or days you can avoid the crowds. For me there were to many people. The problem with fast pass is that to many people use it and no longer is it a great option. I like the idea of again shrinking the number of who gets fast passes. I hope that they do what Univesal does becaue I think Universal figrued out the fast pass thing better then Disney.

Bad, Very Bad idea

Disney likes to pride itself on equlizing the playing field. If celebrities are in the park, they give them a little special treatment, but it I don't think if affects the rest of the populous much. Disney wants EVERYONE to feel special. Start charging for FP and you open up scalping FP tickets and maybe even worse. Guests that stay on property already have the opportunity to enter the park an hour early on certain days. I'd like not to have to walk all around the park to get a FP, but it also helps spread out the crowds. But you all go ahead and pay for the FP. Pretty soon the regular line will be faster and I'll have saved a few bucks to pay for my steak at Fulton's.

Misprint in the Birnbaum book

I actually just found out (from another podcast) that Disney Publishing has confirmed that the 'pay for fastpass' comment in the Birnbaum book was a misprint. It should have been the 'Magical Express' that may be a pay service in the future.

This pay for a FP idea, I dunno WHO came up for it, but they should shut their mouths because what about people who can't stay on WDW property? I mean c'mon guys, if ya gotta get more money, then make ticket prices higher, AGAIN. Don't mess with the FP'es!

Yeah right? Untill a bubbley CM asks one of them, "Hi! Welcome to the Pooh ride, are you one of our elite platinum fastpass card holders, complete with segway service to whatever pin spot you want?! No?! I'm sorry sir, the line to look in the window of the ride starts over there."

I'm all for it though.
