| Walt and the Imagineers went to great efforts to create visual "berms" to help you feel removed from reality, into a "magic(al) kingdom." Every time you have to wait in a line you slowly become detached from the magic unless you encounter imaginative queues. Everytime you have to pull out money at a dining place you are being ****ed back into thinking about everyday life, not the experience. Disney offers resort smartcards so food and merchandise can go right to one bill. Less fuss means more magical experience. Having to pay for Fastpass would be an interruption for me from the Magic. It would also remind me of the pay-as-you play local carnivals where I always feel taken advantage of and have to stress about what we can and can't do while we are in the middle of the atttractions. From a Disney marketing standpoint I would distance myself from any lesser amusement experience. Let the visitor keep experiencing the top dollar entertainment they have already paid for. Let them escape as much as possible. From am Imagineering mindset, think outside the box. Make those tickets work universally mechanically, but make them into souvenirs like pins. Maybe if the Fastpass is built into the ticket price you get a very nice looking, durable Fastpass that can be kept as a souvenir. Instead of generating new paper fastpasses at each attraction, "credit" a date/time stamp to the souvenir Fastpass.

| Annual Passholder | I think the fast pass is great. But pay for that, no. May you do not know but, I'm so far away from Disney World. Until there, I spend as much as to buy a new car. In my country to buy a new car I need about 5.000 american dollars. How much more I'll get to visit Disney again?![]() |

| Fast Pass is great .................but it shouldn,t be only available for those who will pay for it.......................what about the people who can only get to Disneyworld once in two /three years because it takes that long to save up to go.....there are many families in that situation...it costs enough for the travel/hotels/park tickets alone without adding another cost..............& how unfair if they can,t get to go on those really popular Fast Pass rides because they can,t afford that one more expense & the wait time is too long if they have small children . Only my opinion.....but thats how I feel NO CHARGING FOR FAST PASS |

| It is just going to be too difficult, or it will be kinda biased. Do they offer it to people just because their staying at the resorts? That doesn't put much of a dent, except hurting locals (like me), and otherwise then is it going to be based on which hotels because that's another tier of issues that I think most people would have. |

| Reward Loyalty to the Mouse I am a big believer in rewarding loyalty... I think that Annual/Seasonal passholders & DVC members should have priority. Maybe even a FP with no restrictions like they give you for looking at the DVC. Then those staying on the property receive regular FP priveleges as they are now. The final level of FP would be available for $30.00. |

| $25-30 for non resort guests, FP for DVC and APs maybe something like the universal program for resort guests, where your room key gets you into the front of the line in each ride once per day.

| I don't think we should. I like it the way it is now. Plus I think it might be a hassle for me and for everyone else. |

| I think u could if u included all hotels that have buses that run to and from WDW. Including the hotels off of WDW. If I were to stay on Embassy Suites I would stay off of WDW property but the buses leave every 15 mins to WDW I think it should include the ones off of WDW too I think it would be fair for the guests there as much as the ones on WDW property. |

| E-Ticket Holder | I don't think making people pay extra for a fast pass is very fair - at least with the current system. Recently, I went on the Keys of the Kingdom Tour and our tour guide said they were thinking of ways to improve the system. One of the things he said he'd heard was (he also said he'd deny it if it were ever posted on any forum!) was having fast passes distributed to the guests at the gate when you come in with ride times set up for you and everything already. Obviously that's not a lot of info, but that idea has potential if they can work out some of the problems that could easily arise from that. Either that or I say, leave the system the way it is so it's equal to everyone. Let everyone have the same chance to enjoy the parks equally. |

| A-Ticket holder | Let me start by saying that a pay for Fastpass is a bad, bad idea. I don't really need to go into why as plenty of good reasons have already been given. Biggest thing for me would be my limited budget. It's hard enough to even afford a one day ticket once a year or so. Quote:
Also just because I live here doesn't mean I'm rich. I have never been able to afford an annual pass and unless I win the lottery I probably never will. At the best of times we had seasonal passes but that was when it was under $200 each. After my health took a hit, I'm lucky to afford FL resident one-day pass once a year to take my mom for Mother's Day to the Flower & Garden Festival. As it's been mentioned, that other movie themed park (USF) has removed their version of Fastpass and replaced it with a pay system. Last time I went to that park (we won some free tickets) it was horrible. Lines we used to be able to skip with their pass we couldn't. For one day at one park the pass costs $15-$40 depending on the dates. Summer obviously having the highest prices. For the two parks for one day it's $20-$50. There was no way we were going to drop $100 to bypass the lines. That system caters to the rich and leaves those of us on budgets standing in line. Can you imagine a family of four spending $200 just to skip some lines? Disney's current system is great. It doesn't discriminate giving the rich an advantage. It lets you plan your day. I know some don't like that but if you want to see certain shows/parades you kinda have to anyways. If anything could be improved I would suggest more things to do close to the busier rides to kill time til your pass is good. And I wanna go see the Pirates this weekend but I have to work all day tomorrow. Hopefully I can go Sunday! ![]()

| THE DISNEY WORLD SYSTEM IS VERY HARD TO WORK WITH BECUASE IF YOU DON'T GET THERE BEFORE A CERTAIN TIME ALL THE FAST PASSES ARE GONE, AND YOU CAN'T GET MULTIPLE FAST PASSES. I WOULD BE WILLING TO PUT DOWN X BUCKS TO USE A FAST PASS ON EVERYLINE + THERE IS NO DETERMINNED TIME TO USE IT(USE IT AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT WHENEVER YOU WANT). THE UNIVERSAL SYSTEM IS SOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN DISNEY'S SYSTEM. NO OFFENCE I DON'T MEAN TO SAY ITS BETTER TO BE RICH. I JUST THINK IF YOU COULD PAY X AMOUNT TO USE THE PARK'S FAST PASS LINES WHENEVER YOU WANT THAN TO HAVE A DETERMINED TIME WHEN YOU CAN USE THE FAST PASS LINES. I THINK THE SYSTEM IS BETTER. I THINK WHAT THEY CHARGE IS TERRIBLE. Last edited by Mouse; 07-22-2006 at 09:55 PM.. |

| Well, after reading all these posts, and understanding that this was a misprint and the discussion is really moot...I decided to post anyway. I am a regular AP holder. AP holders get a variety of perks already....FP are a perk for whoever gets there first. If its important for your family to ride Soarin - then you better send someone ASAP to the kiosk to get those tickets. Its called prioritizing. If they start selling them, they will still have to limit the number of tickets sold in a day, so YES they would be able to charge exhorbanent prices (because folks will save up for and include the cost in their disney budgets). People know and expect to drop some buckage in Orlando...if you've spent $5,000 on a vacation - are you really going to balk at an additional $300? Heck even if you've gone the less expensive way and only droped $2500...are you really going to deny yourself a fastpass for all the lines over a couple hundred more?? Its kinda of like getting the combo meal at McDonalds..you may not want the fries and coke, but if its only $1 more, you'll spend it. So even if you don't "THINK" you'll want the FPs, you'll get them because of the bargain or perk of being a resort guest or AP holder. Okay, I don't knwo if I'm making sense, but I think its like restaurant reservations - first come, first serve. Residents have discounts on passes, resort guests have perks as well, as do AP holders...lets leave this one thing to whoever WANTS it, whoever SEEKS it out, and whoever gets there first. BTW, I have NEVER gotten to a FP kiosk to find all FP sold out with the exception of Soarin, and that was when it was VERY NEW. Granted I don't travel during peak season, so I might be niave about how often that happens....but again its about choices...make your choices based on availability of "general" FP if getting FPs are important to you. FREE FAST PASSES. THE SYSTEM APPEARS TO BE CURRENTLY WORKING EFFICIENTLY. In the words of one of those Beatles...Let it be.

| So I was reading this thread on the fast passes....and can I just say... Some people should be ashamed!!! Not trying to offend anybody, but Disney is an equal opprotunity company....it is that way with employment, and it is that way with its guests... Just becuase you are an AP, or staying on property, does NOT mean that you should get better service than a local family visiting for the day, and the same goes with the fast passes. Disney used to make people PAY to get on rides...it was like a glorified carnival...and they STEERED CLEAR OF THAT and just hiked up admission prices, and made all of the rides free... I think some people forgot the whole purpose of fast passes....it reserves a SPOT IN LINE FOR YOU, so you can do other things instead of waiting. Unless you are a celebrity who is really really high end...and pays out of the wahzoo to get a guest relations guide for privacy, because that is one of the ONLY reasons why they do it, then you dont get any extra special services.... Just being able to get a FP alone is a great service.... Disney isnt going to treat its guests dealing with attractions any different, whether you are an AP, staying on property, or a local. |

| D-Ticket Holder | It's quite apparent that Disney wants to do something that gives resorts guests a special perk for staying on property and thereby encouraging guest to stay on property rather than off, so I think either a hierarchal FastPass system based on the resort you're staying at or some sort of enhanced FastPass for resort guests is going to happen at some point.
