Rumor: Show @ MGM

What do you guys think about the show at MGM rumor? Personally, I think it's very pricey. Also, if anything, they should give a discount to whoever is already in MGM like the last podcast suggested. Like Lou said, it's not for everyone. Thoughts?

I'm gonna go with you on this one! It's very expensive for something that is in the park especially! It sounds really cool but if it's gonna happen, take it out of the parks and make it something special for people who have the money to pay for it. I agree with Nathan that there should be a "gate buster" attraction going in before something that u have to pay extra for. That just makes no sense to me at all! I've been to Disney a lot, ever since i was just a few months old and i dont like it if this is the direction they are going...

Sorry to be the clueless one here, but I don't have the chance to listen to the podcasts and I've noticed that the 'rumor mill' on here hasn't been updated in the last couple of weeks. What is this show at MGM that you are referring to? Can you give me a quick rundown on what it is and how they plan to charge for it?

Thanks!

It's a La Nouba (spelling?) type of show that they are going to put into MGM. I'm not totally sure, but it will include a lot of the disney movies and have features such as peter pan and wendy flying over the audience...

the podcast said the ticket will be like $115? am I right on this?

But yeah, I think that's a lot for a ticket. It won't be for everyone...

Also, it will be where Indianna Jones is????

But it will definately be in MGM and will be an airconditioned in-theatre sitting. It will run something like 2 hours or so...

Please, anyone, correct me if i'm wrong!

It didn't seem clear to me if the show itself would be like La Nouba, or just that they meant it would be on that scale and price. I think they meant the latter, but I'm not sure that's even known.

The 2000 seat indoor theatre would be built where the Indy theater is now, and it would have a direct entrance for those that purchased tickets to the show but not the park. They weren't sure if there would be any kind of discount for those who did purchase park admission.

They said 1 hr and 45 min in length. As alalune said, it would apparently have various scenes/experiences from Disney movies.

I am completely and totally against this. I don't like the idea of extra cost attractions in the parks to begin with, and this takes that idea to the extreme. MGM is quite a few attractions short of what a full Disney park should have. To think of putting in an extra cost attraction, especially at the prices being considered, seems borderline insane to me.

As Lou or Nathan mentioned on the podcast, putting this at DTD would be a completely different matter. I'd be fine with that. Or maybe putting it in that new shopping area supposedly being planned.

I meant the latter, sorry if I was unclear

It could work if the location was in the park but the acctual show was after the park closed. It could be a great way to promote the park and bring extra revenue to the restaurants. In esscence run the show like Fantasmic; at closing time.

I agree with the raider totally here. Just the concept of putting a pay show inside a prak that needs more attractions is a ridiculous idea. Hopefully the survey tells them this is just an awful idea. Now if they want to do this at the new Western Beltway expansion, I'd have no problem. Butting adding a $100+ show?? I'd rather keep Indy

Here here dmb20th. Additional cost attractions are not a good thing at the Parks. You already pay a pretty good chunk of change to get in. Am "ala carte" entertainment experience isn't going to win too many people over. Having something like that at DTYD makes sense. but to have it at MGM even if they have a separate entrance still sticks int he craw a bit.
