Uh, Nemo is not a shark.
hey guys:
The new Disney park in Hong Kong will serve shark fin soup, which is harvest from live sharks who are then tossed in the water to die.
We must stop Disney from serving the soup, they would not listen to local protests. Tell your friends, tell your parents. Boycott Disney until they stop.
This is serious and real.. Please help Nemo!
Uh, Nemo is not a shark.
They call me "Nana"
Here is an article on the debate:

While I'm usually among the first to stick by Disney's side, being a diver and having an interest in marine life, I don't sympathise with them at all. Perhaps it was inevitable that their Hong Kong arm would end up selling shark fin soup, with it being produced by Asian fisherman more than anyone else in the world, but I would have thought that Disney would try to set an example to the world. I guessed wrong.Originally Posted by Stitch

I won't be boycotting Disney over this in any way however, as I believe the problem goes far beyond them, and the park will probably be operated by a local body (Like the Oriental Land Company in Japan) anyway. Its places such as Chinese restaurants which should be boycotted.
And to finish on a much lighter, less serious note, here's a quick image made by a contributer on various Jaws message boards:![]()

That's my feelings right there...Don't boycott Disney for trying to fit into a culture, boycott the culture that is doing the harm.Originally Posted by 20K

(they eat dogs too)
Fair enough, I'll give you that. I obviously mis-interpreted what you were saying. But just because you're going into a pre-established food culture doesn't mean you abide by it. It is not as if eating shark is a religious factor in their lives. It isn't, and they would not be offending the local community by not having it, so why ARE they serving it?Originally Posted by Stitch

And Tampa, I believe it's Korea, North n' South, who indulge in the eating of dogs![]()
