Re: Drinking around the world
Aren't they?
Good idea. The great thing about Drinking Around the World is that you can try drinks that are filled with liqueurs and taste great rather than worrying about getting something stiff in order to get your money's worth of a buzz. It is a good stamina strategy, however too many sugary drinks are not good for marathon-drinking.
I will begin an official list by suggesting the obvious: a Margarita at Mexico, fiesta preferably.
My favorites/suggestions are as follows, but they are definately up for debate:
Norway - Viking Coffee
China - Peach Oolong Tea Schnapps Slush*
Germany - Auslese Riesling*, Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse*
Italy - Bellini*, Rose Regale*
America - Samuel Adams*
Japan - Sake*, Plum Wine*
Morroco - Tangerine Cocktail
France - Grey Goose Citron Lemonade Slush, Pouilly-Fuisse*, Beaujolais*
United Kingdom - Guinness*, Welsh Dragon*
Canada - Ice Wine*
*these are the drinks I always get, the others I have not tried but seem appropriate

Did the checklist just have each country or did it include a specific drink at each country?
It didn't have specific drinks, I think it was assumed that a beer from each country was the standard. at least that's what we did.

That is true. I guess I just didn't think about it, or maybe we hadn't done it yet.

I think if you went to the website that is clearly displayed on the shirt, you might find em. :-D
Re: Drinking around the world
I had the pleasure of watching my brother do this. I'm not a beer drinker, so I didn't participate. We finished off the night at Le Cellier and it was extremely fun to watch him give his order and have to choose from the different options the waitress gave him. If only I had videotaped it. The waitress knew exactly what was going on and was a good sport about it. Good times!
Re: Drinking around the world
I'm definetely getting my GF and myself one of those shirts when we go down in August
Re: Drinking around the world
Has anyone ever done this non-alcoholic style? I'd love to be able to drink around the world, but I'm pretty small and I think even two drinks would be too much for me. Plus, I hate beer, so that limits my options.
Re: Drinking around the world
Drinking around the world...may have to try that during the Food & Wine Festival this fall.

Most countries have some sort of non-alcoholic native drink. Or you can always try a version of "Sip & Snack" like they did on WDW Today, where they could choose either a beverage or a snack from each country.

I'm not a beer drinker either as I prefer wine and other mixed/cocktails. I space them out...really out...with time, water, and food...over the course of the day or the entire trip. I see no sense in becoming ill and/or drunk attempting to do this in one day/afternoon. :dizzy:
There's also the option of chocolate/candy around the world too!
