We did that last year and it was SO fun! I did get sick the next day, but all we were doing was flying home so it wasn't a big deal.

    POM Tony,

If you go to Drinking Around the World you can buy one there. I think last time I checked they were $12

I'm undecided between trying this or the Monorail Bar Crawl...and I don't think I can handle 2 days like that on one trip!

DH & I have done drinking around the world a couple times & had no problems.

IMO the trick is start early (right when World Showcase opens) and use the whole day to get it done. Stop to eat lunch & dinner (remember drinks had w/your meal count!)
Be sure to drink water & snack to keep yourself from getting too buzzed too quick or too dehydrated. Usually we end our day @ Mexico w/a Dos Equis that we enjoy during Illuminations.

This was my absolute favorite of all of World Showcase! Great choice!

The Viking Coffee is great - along w/the requisite alcohol for drinking around the world it gives you a nice caffine kick!

Careful at F&W - remember they add booths from another 30 or so countries - I'm not sure anyone could handle a drink from all those in one day -- although we gave it a good try over 2 days last fall!

11 drinks is alot. I think a solid amount of time is definitely necessary. 11 am to 9 pm should be perfect. Watching the various movies in each pavillion should help. I love Impressions De France the music is great and the cinematography as well. Eat a lot of lipids to absorb the alcohol, and success shall be yours!

    Re: Drinking around the world

I definetely agree with Andrewgator and others about breaking up the drinking around the world. I myself can hold my own when it comes to drinking and tried to drink around the world straight without the break needless to say I didn't make all around the world and had to make a b line for the buses as I found myself a little more tipsy then I expected.

My adivce: Enjoy it and don't try to be a hero

    Re: Drinking around the world

On our 5th wedding Anniversary in 2003 I completed the "Beers Around the World."
I started in Canada (we had lunch at Le Cellier) and worked our way around to Mexico and had a "local beer" in each country including the Africa trading-post and a tall drink in England.

By the end Illuminations was about to start and they were the BEST fireworks picture I have ever taken, might have been due to the swaying i was doing at the time

I forgot about the side effects of this game... and had to make frequent stops, which we now call "Bathrooms Around the World"

Going to attempt it again this year but in reverse..

We did it. We had 5 of us and only bought one drink in each country to share. I couldn't imagine doing it with just buying one drink/person. The point is always to enjoy yourself!!!

    Re: Drinking around the world

Our problem with drinking around World Showcase was that we got stuck in France. After one Grand Marnier Slush we just stayed there and had another, then another. After dark they put these red, electric, light-up swizzle sticks in your drink and that made it even better! They were only for the Grand Marnier though, not the Grey Goose.
