Question Lost World Photo Hunt

I'd like to put together a photo hunt that involves taking picture of references to attractions that don't exist anymore. Two that I can think of right away are:

  • The Horizons logo in Mission: Space
  • The picture of Mr. Toad in Winnie the Pooh.
Any others?

One of the cars from the Mr. Toad ride can be found on Main St (I know this cause of Lou's book.)

Big Thunder Mountain

Some of the animatronic animal scenes in Walt Disney World's Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (in the "town" of Tumbleweed) are based on scenes from Disneyland California's "Mine Train thru Nature's Wonderland" ride that closed many years ago. For example, the boars trying to catch a bobcat that is perched on a teetering cactus; and a roadrunner fighting a rattlesnake (both scenes are visible from the Walt Disney World Railroad as the train passes Big Thunder).

Last week, as we were riding Pooh, my wife claimed she saw a second picture of toad in Owl's house. This may be another addition to this game if anyone can confirm it.

According to Lou's book, there are two shots of Toad in the pooh ride...a picture of him in Owl's house and towards the end of the ride a picture of the Toad handing over the deed to either owl or pooh.

How about the Dock/Loading area for the Swan Boats in the MK.

carpedm... graet way to make the lists, it's fun just helping. It makes me walk the parks in my head, which is nice.

Does anyone know if there is still stuff from 20,000 Leagues in Living Seas? (It was an answer in one of the quizes on this site, but with all the renovations there, who knows??)

Wasn't the 20,000 leagues things at Living Seas from the movie, not the attraction?

20,000 Leagues is an interesting one. Some of the props from the movie became part of the walk-though exhibit in Disneyland. Then the props got scattered around when that closed. So technically, it might be considered Lost World.

I don't know if the Living Seas still has some, but I believe the Great Movie Ride and One Man's Dream still do.

If it's just references to attractions, I would think that the 20K stuff would work regardless of whether it was originally from the ride or the movie. I don't remember what exactly was at Living Seas, or in the Great Movie Ride or One Man's Dream.

The pictures of Toad in MAWP are not from the actual Mr. Toad ride, or at least the one in Owl's house isn't. It was created for the ride and shows Mr. Toad shaking Owl's hand (wing) as he turns over the deed to the property.

I believe the moon from Horizons is now in JIYI with Eric Idle's face incorporated into it.

The weasel(s) in Splash Mountain were originally in the America Sings show at Disneyland in California.
