Photo Contest #7 - World Showcase Shot

Welcome to Contest #7 - World Showcase

I was given this suggestion and I think it would be great fun. Give us your best World Showcase shot - indoors, outdoors, rides, building, entertainment, food, your choice. It must be of one of the World Showcase Pavillions - Reflections/Illuminations/Parades/Character Buses, etc are NOT eligible. Past Pavillions are allowed (Millennial Village for example.) If you have a question please PM me.

Don't forget to vote in the finals of the Animal Kingdom contest. Sorry getting this one up a couple days late and only giving 12 days to enter, but that should be enough time. (Yes, there are reasons why I am not waiting until the AK contest is completely over-it has to do with my schedule.)

So - go to it, dig out those Shoecase shots - let's see what you have.

Rules:

1. The photo can be from current or past Epcot World Showcase Pav
2. Photo's must be yours, do not use other people's work or copyrighted photos
3. You may only enter 2 photo's into the contest
4. Please upload pics to the Gallery if possible, this will allow easier acess in the voting and winners threads. Link your pictures in this thread to enter them.
5. Contest will run for 12 days with a 2 week voting period.
6. Lou is not eligibale to win
7. Winner will receive a limited edition WDWTrivia pin

Contest begins Wednesday 11/24/2004 runs till Sunday 12/05/2004 (11:59PM EST); voting will begin on 12/06/2004.

I was walking through France one evening and saw this little girl sitting still with her cute little puppy, getting her picture drawn. They didn't know I was taking their photo at the time. The lighting, the nice soft 'Paris' music in the background, and the romantic atmosphere at the time really gave me a sense of being in France, just what I love about World Showcase.

:book: Technical stuff (if you're interested): Shot with a Sony DSCV1 1/40 400asa. I used a 'low' flash and backed up to zoom in and pull in the dark background, and to reduce the lighting in the scene to preserve the glow of the lamp on the girl and the art easel.

That first shot is great. Captures the scene beautifully.

The second shot is of Illuminations so I would suggest you enter something else since Illuminations was on the 'no' list. However, you picture gave me a great idea for a future contest, a best rain shot. ;)

OMG... I've got the perfect rain photos. It's my fav Disney park subject! I love rain at DL and WDW. I've got some excellent shots of us soaked, up past our ankles on Main Street (DL) and with our umbrellas inside out from the high wind.. :)

My main problem would be how to pick only 2! :scratchin

Tracy... Looks great! I love that statue at WS. I have to say that France is my fav pavilion there. The music, the sweet Vovouray wine, the pasteries, Impressions de France, the perfume shop, etc... gotta love it!

I think your first photo is fine. It is World Showcase related and is not a Parade/Illuminations related. I think it shows off the F&G which has the 'china' influence.
