Yea, the no flash rule is a pain, but understandable.
I use photoshop extensively to enhance pictures shot in low light. I can take your average low light picture and really turn it into a very nice shot - as good as if the shot was done in full light or with a flash.
Without diving into my deep archives, I am not sure if I shot that PotC with or without flash. I have 2 preprogramed settings for my camera, one for flash one without. As I turn it on I occasionally switch settings and shoot a flash in a ride on accident. Oops.
So - in short - buy digital and shoot like crazy. Then Photoshop low lights and delete the ones that are beyond salvage.
