Can't upload my pics. When I hit the "submit/upload" button it pauses about a minute and then gives me "page not found" error message. Lou has suggested putting them in a Zip file, but most were taken with my new 7 megapixel camera and each pic takes about 30 seconds to convert on this old computer. Let's see, 700 pics @ 30 seconds--oh my!!! :no: Anyone have any other suggestions?
My suggestion would be the same. The files do need to be smaller in size to work and be accepted.
I had the same problem and used MS photoeditor to reduce the size by 50%.
I have a similar problem with my pics too. I have a 5.0 megapixel camera, which yields photographs with an average filesize ranging from about 1.5-2.5mbs. You have to resize them... and yes, it's time consuming.
I use Irfanview (http://irfanview.com). it's a free photo editing program that is somewhat limited in functions but is excellent for making fast-fixes in certain aspects. I use it almost exclusively for the resizing and compressing of my image files. It makes this kind of thing very simple. Check it out if you like.
I usually resize them down to an 800x600 size with an 80% quality retention on the resave, and it loads up here at DWT in about 4 seconds on average.
