Own a piece of a WDW attraction pin!!!

In 2005, the Piece of Disney History Pin Collection will debut at the Walt Disney World Resort. This pin collection will celebrate Disney Attractions and let Guests take a piece of Disney history home with them. Working with the Engineering Services teams around the Walt Disney World Resort, the Disney Pin Team was able to obtain actual pieces of Disney Attractions, some of which have been retired. In turn, the Pin Team partnered with the manufacturer to add pieces of those Disney Attractions to the pins.

"Attractions are an important part of a Disney vacation," said Julie Young, Product Developer for Disney Pin Trading. "With the Happiest Celebration on Earth just around the corner, I thought this would be a great way for our Guests to remember their favorite attractions."

A variety of Attractions will be featured in this collection from all four Theme Parks, including Maelstrom at Norway Pavilion in Epcot®, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at the Disney-MGM Studios, Swiss Family Treehouse at the Magic Kingdom® Park, and many more.

"I was really inspired by the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea porthole," continued Julie. "After seeing [the porthole], I wanted to find a way to get a piece of that classic attraction into the hands of many Guests. This pin collection was the result."

A new pin will be released each month throughout 2005 and each pin will have an edition size of 2500.

Lou, is there one out for this month yet? Also, do you know what each months pin will be or are they not releasing any more information on it?

Wow, what does this mean? The pins will be made of fibreglass from the subs or something?

These sound like they will be really neat - just a thought - where are the "parts of the attraction" going to come from on currently running attractions like Tower of Terror?

Just a thought.

Maybe there'll be a little tank with water from Maelstrom? Does anyone know when these are coming out? I'm going in early Feb (as you all probably know), will they be there by then?

Can someone confirm what pins will be out and when the release dates will be for each? I've been in contact with friends that live in the WDW area that will pick them up for me, and they need more information on these pins.

I know. Ireally wish they would put the names of the attractions on them! I think it would help people to relate to them more!

just found a pic of March's pin on odpt.com. I like it, I just wish they would have chosen something else for the piece. Maybe like a piece of one of the peinguins or something!
