I only ever buy pins I want and have some kind of personal value. I keep a control on my pin-spending by sticking to a theme and its villians. I have only traded once and that was when a CM at Animal Kingdom spotted my lanyard and had a great addition for me so we mulled over what one I was prepare to trade from my collection. That reinforced my aproach as being a collector rather than a trader as it took ages,
I will probably spend a couple of hundred dollars on my next trip but only if I see the kind of pins I want and whilst it must be impressive to see a vast collection of pins in one collection I personally get more satisfaction from a smaller but more relevant collection.
I had planned to go to DTD to have a look but if the place is a populated by smokers I will avoid....I have no direct health issues with smoking but its not something I endure if I have a choice.
