Prayers and Pixie Dust for Grandma

Hey guys -

Ok so my Disney plans have been cancelled for tonight. Thanks again for helping me choose where to go eat, though. Ok I called my mom after I got off work and she informed me that she admitted my grandmother to the hospital (again) and that her heart rate has been around 28-30 (supposed to be around 60 while resting) for most of the day. Some of you might know that this road has been VERY long (in the hospital for 34 days) and her condition has gotten EXTRAORDINARILY BAD. But now I'm asking for prayers and pixie dust because the past few days have been nothing but shut-downs of systems and now the hospital...we are hoping that she makes it through the weekend.

Ok just got back from the hospital...WAY BETTER THAN THE ONE THAT SHE WAS IN ALL THROUGH JANUARY!!! The doctors are AMAZING and the nurses are just as AMAZING...there was compassion for her. Anyway, here is the update. She's been in A-fib (that we knew), her heart rate was low (28), many complications, she has congestive heart failure and pulminary hypertension. with all of that she has a UTI and because of something she is kinda "filling up with fluids." Many of these things we knew she had but the IDIOT drs. at the hospital last month had NO CLUE!!! SO...that is that...they moved her to ICU and are trying different things to raise her heart rate, all of which (with the complications she has already had) could kill her. My mother and the drs have talked about final wishes and they are hoping that she pulls through the night.

My grandma is a very VERY strong person but a lot has happened in the past month.5 and....i just don't know. I am SO close to her and it has been a bear to have to see her go through this and EVERYTHING!! I thank you all for your prayers and will keep you posted.

i know how it feels....my grandmother passed away last sept of cancer. My husband proposed to me in june the sept before she went and i was happy to have to see me engaged. We were very close and im the first grandchild out of 14. We all had to go to the hospital the night she went to say our goodbyes and it was heart wrenching....she was so helpless with no hair lying in bed. She was so alert though...she was talking about my wedding and how she will wear pink! Finally a year later in Oct..(this past Oct) it was my wedding day and she always wore keds...i wore her sneakers on my wedding day and decorated them. That was her way of being there with me. I will still to this day gets signs from her so i know she is around. I know it is tough and im here if you need to talk. Hang in there

LOTS of pixie dust and prayers coming your way from me. Keep us posted. I really hope things turn around for the better. But if they don't, always remember that you have us, your fellow disney freaks.

I will continue to keep you all in my prayers. Being close to someone is a double-edged sword; it's wonderful, but cuts deep when you see them so ill.
