Ok, just FYI, I have not had to do a job search in almost 11 years!!! So this is the first real interview I have been on in ages!
The position would be a great introduction for me into the Event Planning career I am switching to.
I am hoping that they are willing to pay what I am worth and that they will like me!
The place is less than 2 miles from my house - how cool is that?!

Anyways - I know it is trivial in the whole scheme of things going on lately, but I could really use some good thoughts - tomorrow at 3pm!!!!

I've heard from hiring managers that often if you are granted an interview it means:
1. They think you are capable of doing the job from your resume.
2. Interview allows them to see to what extent your experience and knowledge base really is.
3. To see how your personality would fit in the group

Well, this is my first interview post being laid off. Kinda nervous - but glad that I am at least getting the first interview out of the way.
Plus, I was getting a little frustrated with lack of interest.

I understand all that Lara. Being unemployed and looking can be both a blessing and curse....sigh... It's kinda ironic because of the sudden you have all the time in world, but absolutely no money to really do anything.

I was thinking along the lines of responses to typical questions you get in interviews. Also, questions you have for them about their company, the position, benefits, etc. That sorta thing. I don't know about you Lara, but I found it helpful when going through the interview process to have these worked out ahead of time. Iit helped make me less nervous and more relaxed during the actual interview.

Here are somethings I have taken away from interviewing for jobs:

1) I think you should wear a buisness suit. Or as close as you can get to dess slacks or skirt to the knee, a dress shirt and a suit jacket
2) Be prepared to answer the question what is your Greatest weakness (make sure you can say this, be confident and not show that you are really worried about your weakness.
3 What is your greatest asset.
4) Smile.
5) Ask a lot of questions
6) RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH know all you can about this company before you go in and sit in front of them (Researching might also help with finding some questions to ask the company)
7) And have fun, be your self and just relax. You are a great person and I know if you show them who you are they will love you.
