Prayers and Pixie dust needed

A 2 year old girl in MN will be under going a serious surgery next Wednesday to remove tumors from around her celiac axis (or artery or trunk) due to stage 4 neuroblastoma. I came to know of her story through my nephew, who works with her father. What prompted me to ask for prayers here is that I just found out she's a Mickey and princess fan. She has a big, big fight on her hands. Anna, her parents, and her doctors will need divine intervention to see them through. Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers. I'll update you when I hear of the results. Thanks.

An update on Anna was posted late yesterday.

Anna made it through the nearly 6-hour surgery, but the results were not as successful as were hoped. The doctors were able to removed tumors from her lower abdomen, but only 40-60% were removed from the chest. Most of the tumors were very sticky and encompassing important blood vessels. Nothing peeled off and nothing was easy. The incision was 6 inches long and covers nearly 20% of her body length. You can imagine the type of pain Anna is in since all of her organs were moved around extensively to get to the cancerous material. She's running a fever of 101-103 and her fluid intake and output are being monitored to make sure they are both in appropriate levels. Between pain and having a complete vital check every 60 minutes, sleep for child and parents was pretty much non-existent on Thursday night. As you can guess Anna is far from out of the woods. Please continue to keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

It's been a while since I updated this thread. Anna is hanging in, but the prognosis is not good. Her parents are trying to decide which avenue of treatment they should consider since none of the options are good. Please continue to keep Anna and her family in your prayers.

It is just so sad watching what is happening to these little girls and their families Virginia. My heart and prayers go out to them.

The most recent news is decidedly worse. Anna now has a lesion on her knee, one on her scalp, and a mass in her neck. The newest set of chemo cocktails has to be postponed till her blood counts improve, but they can't be considered for the treatment in NY till the new growths are under control. The family had been given a weekend to play in Minneapolis by a support group for families with children with cancer, but exposing Anna to the outside world was too dangerous.
